No, I'm not saying it's a bargain. But, it says something about London prices.
As a matter of interest, what would that property probably sell for had it been in Leicester? This one is £50k in Stoke and needs a lot of work on the kitchen.

I'd guess most of them are casualties of various probate/will/inheritance wars. Some of them are potentially lovely.

Some look to me like water damage from burst pipes. I wonder if someone did not have house insurance, a pipe burst, the ceiling came down, unable to afford the substantial repair bill their only option is to sell at a reduced price for someone else to sort out?2

This doesn't fit into the OP for this thread which is for things that are more unusual, but I like this house here. It's not suitable for me (wrong place, too small), but I think that for a lot of people who are single and/or childless and intend to remain so, or empty nesters, a property like this could work well. It's a cluster house, which has been discussed on another thread and I like the idea of those for smaller properties.
With the amount of 'stuff' some people have reducing due to books, CDs, DVDs, etc. going digital, properties like this make sense to me. And, this house is 20 minutes walk away from Leighton Buzzard Station, and right next to a big expanse of green park.

FWIW my Dad’s house has been empty for a year. It has been looking unloved for the last 6 months. I’m hoping that the sale goes through very very soon as it needs to be lived in again.1 -

In the case of my mother's seat, it was manual not electric. A quick google shows that electrical products of this sort (though looking very different) exist.
