Wow! Some eye-popping patterns going on here. And some lovely details.

Or, at least a modern version. It seems that these are 'Krups' brand scales from the 1970s.

The modern versions don't look so good to me. The electronics look 'cheap' to my eyes.

This reminds me a house I actually viewed. This one:

I would say that the rooms that have the colourful carpets are brighter and the carpets are in better condition than they appear in the photos. And the featureless brown ones are older and in serious need of replacing. My partner is not from the UK but from a culture where bright colours and patterns are more of a thing. She loved those coloured carpets, and if we had bought this house it's very unlikely I would have been allowed to change them

A bit of paint to finish this one off.. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/141120125#

A bit of a triviality bugbear of mine, but isn't this an end-terrace house, rather than a semi-detached? I see a lot of end terraces described as semis.FreeBear said:A bit of paint to finish this one off.. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/141120125#
The listings for a variety of 'needs a huge amount of work' properties say 'an opportunity to put your own stamp' on the property. Surely that's also possible if you buy a property in good condition - nothing to stop you redecorating as much as you want.0 -
Looks semi-detached to me, only two properties / front doors showing in the photos.3

Oh, I see. It's a near house-sized extension, rather than a new house on the end. I initially wondered how they got four bedrooms in but there have been cases of micro-bedrooms before. That explains the mixture of old and new as well. I was thinking that the bit with new blocks was the 'house'.Martico said:Looks semi-detached to me, only two properties / front doors showing in the photos.1 -
I wonder what the back story is, ran out of money to finish it?FreeBear said:A bit of paint to finish this one off.. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/141120125#
I think they missed a trick, rather than an extension, I think they had room to build a complete new house there alongside the existing one (if they could have got PP)0 -
Planning application* made & approved in 2016. Work started sometime around 2018/19 judging by streetview. Appears to be water tight by April 2021, and not much more done since.ProDave said:
