[/SIZE] I will go through my wardrobe. We also need a system for the laundry, as currently some things are sometimes just dumped in the cupboard under the stairs after being washed. There is also an unmentionable room which might have a floordrobe :embarasse

    They listened to different music
I will go through the cds that are mine and weed them out, I will redownlad itunes and put my music back on my computer (after a crash a few months ago, thank goodness for external harddrives) and I will switch what is on my ipod.
They danced different dances - Sing loudly. This I do a lot, with my partner. we have a great many silly dances and silly songs.

They "dated," - make at least 3 dates this month – My partner and I were just talking about going to the cinema and she has some discounted tickets. There is a World Thinking Day campfire outing later this month. and must think of one more.

The flappers used make-up. I don't wear make up and don't really want to. I would however, like to take better care of myself. When I feel down, bodily selfcare is usually the first thing to go. I sorted out the bathroom cabinets last month so I know we have lots of mouisturiser and facemasks. I have put a lipbalm and handcream in my bag, as I wash my hands a lot at work. I would like to try making zero waste/eco deodorant and body products this month.

The Roaring Twenties was the birthplace of the consumer society (boo! hiss!)
I don't have any debt. But am saving for a house deposit/refurbishment of this house and fertility treatments.
It was also the time of Agatha Christie Investigate
I am looking forward to this. I know not packing an adequate lunch means I spend money on food.
The Rules: It is a short month, aim for a minimum of 14 NSDs - that gives you every other day to spend on if necessary (it will not be necessary, trust me). Hardcore Turtles can aim for 20 NSDs. Petrol, meds and YS are exempt.

Plan ahead – budget in advance as much as possible. Bills. Travel. Birthdays are on the same date every year. Keep a diary, or at least a calendar (they are reduced right now). If you don’t know it is coming up, you can’t budget for it. I must do my budget. I was a way at the weekend and didn't have time

Post 3 gratitudes, and stop by regularly to let us know how you are getting along.

Stay away from chain coffee shops / big business food franchises/ takeaways unless they are part of your “dates” and have been budgeted for. Set yourself the budget before you go and stick to it. I try to avoid these as much as possible anyway.

I am grateful for our cat who turns out to have astma and not one of the myriad more serious things it could have been. I am grateful she likes tuna so much she eats her pills right up with it with little fuss. I am grateful for silly dances with my partner.

They wore different clothes – I'm wearing very old jeans to work today. I got picked up by a colleague this morning, he's the only one I will see here today, and I'll cycle back home after my half-day.

They listened to different music – DD1 is practising her dance routine for the school fete, something with Greta Thunberg saying 'how dare you'. NOT my kind of music, but she's enjoying it. We have a '1-screen/1-device' rule in our house, so while she is practising I cannot put on any other music.... We also have a 'no headset' rule, as we like to stay connected and somewhat able to follow the other's interests. But I may let her break that rule to practise her dance routine. We allow dds to break the rule occasionally for piano practise, but there, too, I like to listen in and advise.

They danced different dances; Sing loudly - DDs are trying to teach me their dance routines, it's all hiphoppy and streetdance and very fast!

They "dated" - Planned an afterchurch meet-up with a church acquaintance to organise the last details of the Cheese and Wine night. We are the same age, both Dutch-living-in-Belgium, and she has 2 sons who are 5 years younger than my 2 dds, so she is now experiencing things I already experienced, and we have lots to talk about :)

The flappers used make-up - Every morning and evening I put on A1di hyaluron face cream; I remove my eye mak-up with olive oil (since I have allergic reactions to quite a few 'real' eye make-up remover liquids); every morning I put on mascara and eye pencil.

The Roaring Twenties was the birthplace of the consumer society (boo! hiss!) - I've helped husband write an email to politely refuse a job offer. He is in IT and works as a consultant with a bank; the bank has been bought up by another bank, and the entire IT department has been told to apply with a certain different consulting company or be let go. Apart from my husband! He does not have to change consulting companies, but went to the job interview anyway, and their offer just isn't good enough; he would be paid €500 gross less than he is being paid now.

Examine all the tiny clues of your spending, and understand your triggers - One trigger: just being in a shop :)

Plan ahead – budget in advance as much as possible. Bills. Travel. Birthdays are on the same date every year. Keep a diary, or at least a calendar (they are reduced right now). If you don’t know it is coming up, you can’t budget for it - Husband bought lamb chops on Monday for €15! But he paid with our meal vouchers, so we don't really feel it. And he has been very good at taking lunch to work, and he cooked for 3 days :)

3 gratitudes. Ride from a colleague, cycling back home, dd1 making the dance battle team for the school fete by sheer luck.

Stay away from chain coffee shops / big business food franchises/ takeaways unless they are part of your “dates” and have been budgeted for. Set yourself the budget before you go and stick to it. - Complete success yesterday :)

Come on in! It is only 5th, plenty of time to not spend this month :D. You are lucky Turtle #20

Bizarrely, it is both Nutella appreciation day, and shower with a friend day. Probably one after the other? Well, if you are lucky anyway....:rotfl:Hooray for washing machines.

Today is NSD2 for me as the tea was not reduced when I went into the shop, so will try again tomorrow.

Nothing interesting to report today, face oiled, shakes drunk, house tidy, all the big kids were 3 minutes late to school.Worst Mother Ever. I am so tired of telling them, every single day, that if they do not get into the car at 8am (when I get into it) I cannot guarantee they will get to school on time, and wandering out the door at 8.15 is seriously bad form and a flippin' disasterous start to my day. They all have lunchtime detentions. Maybe they will finally start to be on time. I do wake them at 7!

Sorry to all the Turtle teachers. :(:(:(

I have been to the doctor's. Went in a taxi to avoid the cold air (even 5 minutes seems to trigger a coughing fit). It is only a (very nasty) virus, I do not need antibiotics. Just lots of self-care and resting as much as possible. So I have decided to decamp to the bungalow.
This cuts out the stairs - went downstairs to get a yoghurt before I had my wash. Came back up and then realised I had gathered up my washing up and taken it down (beloved had a huge bagful) so I had no spoon to eat it with. Had chocolate breakfast rather than attempt the stairs again. I had to lean holding onto the bed after brushing my teeth.

I will keep to my room as much as possible to avoid pssing on the virus, although others in the extended family have had it for weeks too. It will make attending the many appointments we hav lined up much easier, as we will both be travelling from the same point. It also avoids me standing or sitting (on a stone wall) waiting to be picked up on the way.

I have ordered more food (mainly for mum but it is being delivered here). No idea where I am up to with spending (think I can work it out) but I won't claim taxi fares from mum until the items I added to her list (Beloved was out of cordial) have been paid for.

Will be taking the laptop, breathing machine (of course) some extra clothes (clothes for 3 days and pills for a week already there) plus books, paperwork, some sewing. Have taken wraps and a seeded wholemeal loaf from the freezer. Would like a white toastie loaf - am in the mood for mounds of soft golden toast.

Now have to work out simple instructions for what needs to happen in the house whilst I am away (it's still not like the hoarder homes on tv but only because I keep going round removing what I can).

I gave the receptionist details of my new phone number for my file and mum's as well (Nof K, carer). I went to get the dressings but they didn't have them in stock either. They will order them and deliver on Friday so I will ask the district nurses if we can use their's tomorrow and we will replace them on Monday.

Today I am grateful for the NHS, for not needing antibiotics and for feeling brighter already (the prospect of escape).

PS lots of ice cream and ice lollies made it onto the shopping list - these are purely medicinal.

Quick post for me. Good luck Foxholes with mortgage and everyone with cold, cough viruses.

Wearing a jumper I never wear I know why now, its uncomfortable, not itchy but think its the material. Pity it looks nice okay now turned the heating off in my office.

Spending day again, full body massage this afternoon, hopefully be jumping and dancing around after.

Nothing much else to report, made everyone laugh today in work. Annouced as part of sport relief this year I would come to work in my swimming costume, bosses haven't stopped laughing yet.

Right got to run off to bank for work.

    Grateful for
Feeling brighter than I did yesterday,

    Dry weather

I've brought the bins up to the back door and written instructions - 2 pages each on bins, washing, dishwashing, flat surfaces (second page just says NB the floor is a flat surface) and declutter (it has to happen). Still using up - have started on the second (very ancient) black permanent marker. Resting now then will go to library to stock up - may as well take the cook books back, only planning on soup and sandwiches, yoghurts and ice cream for the time being - and maybe toast.

Food coming between 3pm and 5 pm so plan to leave as soon as possible after that.

Still grateful - pleasant day, cool but bright, good books, using up stuff.

Much more productive day today. Made a list and am working my way through it but every time I tick something off I add another two things to it. But it is the only way to get organised.

Made a few long overdue phone calls, sent some texts that needed doing. Found someone to fix the buttons on the Boy's leather jacket. It was an expensive jacket and I don't want to ruin it by attempting it myself.

Eating from stores today and tomorrow. Going to take a while to get through all of this.

Not doing too well with the pampering and I've lost my mirror so I'm going to have to buy another one so I can do my eyebrows and put some make up on. I'm actually considering starting to have them done professionally and having my eyelashes tinted. Not very MSE, I know, but my eyesight is such that I'm finding it difficult to do properly myself. Time and confidence wise it might be a good idea. The salon that I have my hair done in is very reasonable so I think I'll investigate next time I go.

Himself had blood tests done before we went on holiday. He phoned for results today and the doctor wants to talk to him tomorrow. A bit concerned about that but he does have some health issues that really need addressed so maybe it'll focus his mind. Also going to see my sister in law tomorrow for the first time since she went into the hospice. A little bit apprehensive about how she'll be.

All in all I'm feeling a bit on edge. Hopefully I'll be better tomorrow.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
