Well flying in DS1's room hasn't gone to plan. I stripped his bedding, and noticed stains on his mattress protector; took that off, and the stains had gone all the way through. I'm guessing that the cat is to blame as he often sleeps on his bed during the daytime. So I've cleaned the mattress with some oxi cleaning powder that I've made into a solution, blotted it with a towel to absorb as much water as possible and left it to do its thing whilst I went out to pick DS1 up from school. It seems to have removed the stain, but it needed to be rinsed off as it was soapy feeling. So I got out our trusty George (Henry's wet and dry brother), filled the tank with some warm water and a couple of drops of lavender oil (to sanitise any nasties that may still be lurking and to make his room smell nice), and have rinsed off the oxi cleaner. Mattress is now propped on its side with the window open, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it dries in time for bedtime. Otherwise DS1 will have to sleep on an air bed. I've got a really bad headache now, but still have to hoover off all of his teddies that keep getting covered in fur when Little Black Furry Cat decides to become one and curls up on top of them all to sleep.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

We are struggling to get the filters on the cooker hood clean. They are the metal ones you can remove for cleaning. Any ideas please?

Hi all
Hugs asb and Dizzy. Cant offer any practical advice but I am here supporting you all the same.
Tiring day. Completely forgot a meeting this morning at work but was able to arrange it for later in the day. Had to dash home at lunchtime to sort out DS1s medication, make him lunch and generally make sure he was OK.
Off to a meeting for the voluntary stuff that I do in a minute. Really debating whether to give this up but I do quite enjoy being involved in it. We shall see.
House is OKish. Managing to keep on top of the hoovering and dusting and make sure we are all fed. Thats about as much as I can manage at the moment!0 -
