I managed to get DS2 onto the school bus this morning.
Housework has been neglected recently.
Bed stripped and 2nd wash is in the machine
Nipped around and emptied all upstairs bins as it is bin day.
Grabbed a few bits for a charity bag and put that out.
Round I know how you feel with the radio. Hugs x
I waiting for a parcel so may try a HHC, haven’t done one for years.0 -
Good morning
Lots of hugs needed this morning it seems. This is a safe place to vent, so vent away! Fayolle your description of procrastination is spot on! I, too, could be a contender for an Olympic medal! And it does feel like everyone else seems to get things done, while I am still sitting with the same amount of 'stuff' (real & imagined) around me!
Paid stuff today. Dog has been walked, DW is on. I need to make some phone calls, and I may take the car for a spin - not sure where to, but it needs to tie in with nap/meal/school run times.
Have a good day. Hugs, sticks and spoons to those that need them, especially Dancemum, Roundtuit, Fayolle, Jazee and Natty0 -

Morning ladies!
So the world has turned on it's head...again...
Found out why DH has been acting like a prat - he was worried about his end of year review...not because he hasn't been performing (indeed, exceeding) targets, but because his manager had said he wanted a chat with him, but wouldn't say why! DHs mind went into overdrive, wondering if he'd upset somebody, or dropped a clanger somewhere etc. and so bottled his anxiety up and let it out on me....!
Long story, short. It wasnt anything bad - he wanted to offer him a two-stage fasttrack promotion! Only problem is it's in Wolverhampton which is over an hour from us and would maybe need us to think of moving. I don't want to as my dog business is booming , I love my house and the area where we live and really don't want to live in a town! The big boss has asked us to think about it, as there's at least a £10K payrise included, but....
We are talking over everything that's going on a little at a time, as I really don't want to move if our relationship is going to continue to be rocky.
I worry-baked yesterday and made shortbread biscuits, chocolate brownies and a sponge cake. Bang goes the diet - again! I've woken up feeling groggy and disorientated but have done my stint at breakfast club, fed all the animals, collected the eggs, put the DW on and S&S in the kitchen.
To keep me busy today, I'm moving all my crafting stuff from one of the spare rooms to the old playroom, which I am now grandly claiming as my study and library. The dust is unreal :eek:0 -
Ah Dizzy, at least you have a partial explanation, and at that is half the issue.
Sorry for my terrible spelling on last nights post. I didn't have my glasses on....hopefully reading about me shaving "boobles" off the mattress protector raised a smile.
Just thought I would share my experimental tip about cleaning my mattress last night.....i have a trigger bottle labled Mum's Carpet SOS. it has a tiny squeeze of Ariel Green clothes washing liquid and half a capful of blue Lenor topped up with water....it has been great for getting marks out of the carpet .. .now my DFF1 has taken a dislike to cheap cat food lately and her favourite safe space to declutter the contents of her tummy is on my bed.....but although cleaned up promptly, you sort of get a "ring stain" once it dries to the edges of where yoive cleaned.
I recently bought some puppy training pads to put on my bed while i trial her with different cat foods......( she hates the pads texture underfoot, so will promptly walk forward and declutter on any exposed bit of sheet or dig the divet til she finds some.....
Anyway, last night, i hit upon the item to use carpet sos on the edges of the old stain to see if I could get them gone....being careful not to over wet the mattress so close to bedtime.....it looked like the stain was lifting but i didnt want to push it deeper into the mattress.....so i thoight i would try up turning puppy pad upside down and rubbing like i would a towel.....OMG, when i turned it over, i had a big yellowy grey wet hand print but the stain was completely gone!
There were only a couple of these ring marks, but i decided to give the whole mattress the once over....it didn't look dirty when i statted, but when i finished there was a very noticeable difference.....I was too embarrassed to take pictures, but now im thinking, if i get some help turning the mattress soon, i will take some before and after pictures of the other side..
I hope this helps anyone who has poorly furbabies or fur-guests.
Today, i have no help, so i am going to take car to ge cleaned but i need to degibble it first.....anyone around to join in a HH bin bag dance? :wave:The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
Gosh, it sounds like a lot of hugs are needed today! So sorry to hear that so many of you are having a rough time of it at the moment.
Natty I hope your flu lifts soon. Regarding the BIL, I would maybe just take a step back and get Dave to communicate with him instead.
dancemum school refusal can be so hard - I've luckily only experienced it mildly with DS1, but have witnessed it plenty of times from the teacher's side as well as seeing one of DS1's classmates frequently crying and clinging to her parent every time there has been a holiday etc. Well done for being so productive despite the tough start.
Jazee I hope you have a better night's sleep tonight.
Fayolle it sounds like you're feeling stressed too - sounds like some relaxation is needed for both you and your DH. Hugs.
Dizzy Imp I'm so glad you've got to the bottom of things with your DH - my husband is another one who will take it out on me when he's worried about something rather than just talking about it. I know it's a long way, but it DH willing to commute at all?
Thanks for the mattress tips skint - the boobles made me laugh.
roundtuit - have you tried telling your colleagues that the radio makes you anxious? They're probably completely unaware of the effect it's having on you. x
Well I did very little flying yesterday as I was out all day and so far today have just managed to declutter some surveys and reach my Swagbucks goal.
DS2 has been out in the garden this morning with his Dad, and has just come in and asked me to take off his gloves (ski gloves that can only be hand-washed and dried) which he's caked in mud.Looks like another flying task to declutter. It also means that he has nothing to keep his hands warm so had to come inside which he's not happy about. Have sat him on the now baby-wiped sofa (he'd put his muddy bucket and tools on it when he came in) with an oatcake and Tinga Tales to keep him amused for a few minutes until lunch. DS1 has forest school at school this morning so will likely come home with lots of muddy waterproofs and wellies again, so the last item on today's extras list is very appropriate for me.

re venting/letting off steam etc
It's been said before (on this thread) but - whatever YOU are going through is BIG and IT MATTERS. Even if someone else is worse off - your burden needs carrying an this thread has strong shoulders. So vent/offload/rant/rave. You helped me through my worse time more than you'll ever know.
And, sometimes, writing it down helps.

Evening all
Busy work day done, huge list of house jobs done, too tired to type them all! Bags packed and we are away for the weekend.
Have a good one all, catch you next week. Huge hugs, sticks, spoons, support and understanding to those in need xxx0 -
Gosh I thought I was having a tough time with work stress and parental hospital admittance twice in 3 weeks....I send best wishes and gentle cwtches to everyone. Even if you don’t need them!
Flying took a back step the past few days but as I am now lying in a freshly changed bed with a cuppa and idiot dog I can feel satisfied that my kitchen and dog room (actually it’s a dining room for thin sparrows) are sparkling, my bathroom is sparkling, I have a long weekend and was a good person and got my smear done today.
Sweet dreams sweet people xxxx
