Parkrun this morning - with legs that felt like lead for some reason!
Well done with your ParkRun. On the strength of last week's, I ordered myself a proper wrist band with my bar code on it to avoid having bits of paper and also to encourage me to do more. However this morning was not one of themI did, however, walk fast up to post a letter this morning and later ditto to go and do some drumming practice. Still only showing 8000 steps though.
The week has rushed by, after the disappointing cancellation of granite fitter on Tues, he came as promised on Thursday and did a good job. We now have proper floor and properly fitting worktops. On the strength of that, and as most of the kitchen is currently in the dining room, we have decided we may as well decorate as the walls need it. Went out and bought some paint today (and booked a cinema ticket while I was in town). Mr N started taking down curtain rails (our kitchen has patio doors plus 2 double windows) and curtains now ready in wm to do tomorrow. He also started de-webbing and washing bits of the walls.
I took down the pinboard and went through all the rather numerous appointment letters, business cards, photos etc to clear some space so we can actually read what is on it. Good job. I have also done one section (out of 3) of a letter rack, culling old insurance reminders, old glasses prescriptions, cc regulations - where does all this stuff come from?
Loads through wm yesterday and most dried on washing line outside.
Have booked accommodation either side of our biking holiday for May, after a lot of research and comparing costs. Some cashback arrived already.
Am working my way through a large 'in' tray on my desk, gradually filing stuff. It keeps multiplying.
Filled in last weekend's RSPB birdwatch on line.
Scanned 13 or so sheets of Power of Attorney document for MIL/Mr N.
Well on the way through another report.
All in all not a bad week; I've got lists and lists of stuff to do and feel a bit daunted but also a bit motivated. Hugs to all.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Morning all. Up early as apparently I was taking up all of the bed. My DH is also being an idiot so I'm not looking forward to today. Let's just say it's not easy being married to an alcoholic.
Just having a cuppa then I'll do my physio. I have some paperwork to catch up on today. Not sure when I'll be able to get out with the dogs as it's pouring with rain. Littleydog is not happy.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning :wave:Have I ever said it - I love you all :heartsmiland you will probably never know how much this thread means to me.
:heartsmil
Muddy Walker - I bought a bag full of books written by Robert Crais through a local fb site :money:. I've put them in the order that they were written, then I pass them on to my Dad to read, then they go to cs. So reading is actually a form of decluttering
YL - and I didn't burst in to tears when I asked! :T They really are a lovely bunch of people that I now work with - I think eventually I will relax in to that more. Apparently MM is still causing problems - not my circus, not my monkeys :T
dancemum - Fingers crossed that Weekend Willi puts in another flying shift today
It's looking hopeful as I was laid in bed planning things to do today: random stuff like throw out the billionty one sun lotions and potions in the cupboard under the kitchen sink - which will make room for the dustpan and brush to be stashed in there; get all the cs bags together and arrange to deliver - that'll make room in the dining end of the kitchen :T; shake all the shredding confetti off a messenger bag which has been sat on the floor (below the shredder) for who-knows-how-long and ask DS: keep or cs? (either way it will no longer be sat on the kitchen floor :T ) Motivation is strong as I am close to reclaiming my kitchen floor (at the kitchen end) woot woot

Stalling now as I don't know what to do next … so much choice!!!!
Decided - I'm going to shine my sink and give the surrounding area ie the taps and behind the taps  a thorough clean. This might take a while - better put some music on.

Good morning
I am inspired by Round this morning, so will make a short ‘Round 1’ list to kick myself into action:
Round 1
[STRIKE]Get up & dressed!!
Strip bed
Put bedding in WM
Have breakfast
Splash some bleach in downstairs toilet
[/STRIKE]
I will update shortly with progress!0 -
Looking better but not finished yet. Got rid of the dust and grime, attacked fiddly bits with an old toothbrush, and taps are currently swathed in kitchen towel soaked in white vinegar to see if it shifts the limescale. If not I'll buy something that does when I'm taking bags to cs tomorrow.
I feel like a proper flyladyusing old tooth brushes and white vinegar - get me :rotfl:

Aww that's made me
I find Rounds very helpful: for a start they get me started- it's physics, overcoming inertia is a thing
So if I say I'll rinse and recycle 6 cans, that feels doable and I'll start. Once started I'll probably keep going and rinse and recycle eleventy six cans... but if I only do 6 that's fine, that was the target.
How do you eat a elephant and all that …
