Have spoken to our vendors, they are still keen to get this done and so are there vendors, so no one wants to drop out. I guess we will keep going as best we can and hope we get it all over the line.Thrugelmir said:
Be prepared to be disappointed. Expectations of life carrying on as normal are somewhat over optimistic.SimonBck said:Looking to get our move done in 12 weeks. Hopefully it can be done but who knows in this situation we find ourselves in.0 -
That’s good everyone in the chain is still going ahead. We are the same as it will be a forever home so market value is not going to make a difference to us in the short term unless the mortgage offer gets pulled. (Been keeping an eye on all threads regarding COVID 19 and mortgages)
Due to move in 6 weeks time and although we are accepting that there may be a delay due to current events still hopeful that everything will go through as planned eventually.1 -
Hi hope everything going well with you and you and family are safe and well.I thought I would pop on with an update. Our missives have now concluded and have an entry date of 1st may and sellers have already moved out so the house is now empty. We have booked a hire van to move so we can do this ourselves (with the help of our 4 kids) without removal firm. The house we are moving to is 2 miles away so it shouldn’t take us that long. How’s things going for you?0

Thank you for the update. Family are well, hope yours are too. Really pleased for you. It is nice to have something to look forward to in these not so nice days. Good idea getting a rental van, i imagine getting a removal company is very difficult at the moment.
I am currently in limbo, my salary has been reduced for a temporary period because of COVID19 so this may affect my mortgage offer. My company has said it will go back to normal as soon as possible. Just waiting on my mortgage broker to advise what to do. Will be so disappointing if we miss out.0 -
Hopefully it won’t affect your offer as it is temporary and I’m sure there are lots in a similar situation. It’s a horrible feeling not knowing as we were told a few weeks ago everything was on hold then told everything was going ahead again.0

Broker said to wait it out and then when I get back to full pay all will be OK. Along as that is before September it will be all good.Scottishgal19 said:Hopefully it won’t affect your offer as it is temporary and I’m sure there are lots in a similar situation. @Scottishgal19 How are you? Have you moved into your new property?
My chain has gone quiet, which is not a bad thing for us at the moment. I have been told today that my car allowance is being re-instated, that is one step closer getting back to my full pay .

Hi all,
Apologises for jumping on this post but thought my question fits with the title and you may be able to offer advice.
Ive been waiting to view an empty property since lockdown began. The property is empty but the vendor doesn’t live near so hasn’t been able to drive to open the door and estate agent is national as opposed to local so doesn’t have keys. In fact the EA hasn’t been able to give me much info on why the house is being sold etc.
Since lockdown I’ve been able to view from outside as the property is on my way to work. I’ve also spent a rather considerable amount of time considering all the usual options and think this house is virtually what I’ve been waiting for (I appreciate this may change when I view internally).I’ve emailed the EA twice in about 5 weeks to ask if they had any idea when viewings could take place. With Boris’ announcement due this PM should I email again tomorrow AM to ask if they have any further ideas when this could happen? I’m conscious of annoying the EA and they have said they will ring me but they also told me 13 other people are interested, likely now more, and I’ve missed out even on viewings before because others view before me. I work on the frontline of the NHS and I’m in work Monday to Wednesday this coming week. I really don’t want to miss out on a viewing even if it turns out it’s not the house for me.I also have questions about potentially making an offer but think they may be more useful when I’ve viewed.Hoping you have some advice!
Thanks 🙂Officially a homeowner 🥳🥳

@Scottishgal19 My work have agreed to put me back on full pay. We are still going ahead with the move. This has been one hell of a journey. Hope things are going well in your new home.0
