Ethics of selling Live 8 tickets for profit

Was the washed up line up publicised b4 the texting deadline?
If not, no wonder winners want to offload their tickets
How agreeable it is to do nothing and then rest afterwards0 -
hello, as a new user, I'd like to add my thoughts to selling tickets to this mega concert being ethical or not.
In some ways it is like entering the National Lottery, lots of us do it every week but we know we are never going to win, its the pure thrill of chance that compels us to buy that losing ticket.
For me, sending a text to Live 8 was much the same, but different in that I knew I was actually making a donation to a charity event. I never in my wildest dreams expected to win from it, but hey then i got a text to say I had :j
In my case, I didnt know at the time of 'donating' £1.50 to live 8 when the concert was to be, or much else, and again, in my case my work seriously conflicts as i work from Thursday evening to a Sunday evening, which would necessitate me taking almost the whole week of to attend, plus of course the travel costs from Bristol to London, and the overnight hotel for two nights ...
so I'm wondering if its really in my interests to attend or not, can I really afford to go and lose a weeks salary and another weeks in travel/hotel fee's so as i can stand for hours on my poor feet and pay inflated prices for meagre refreshments etc.
But, and here is the question, if I win a local lottery run by some charity and get a small prize, which most would sell if surplus to requirements, then that is fine, its common, everyone does it, the charity made its money on the raffle tickets, and the prizes were donated anyway..... so everyone wins
but this is live 8, a worldwide event attracting massive interest, yet the charity has made its money, all the performers have donated their time, there is no VAT or other taxes to pay, all the artists are getting unlimited publicity worth a fortune, and it dont cost anyone anything apart from actually attending, which is no doubt tax deductible and luxury class, so what is the differance really .....???????
those that won tickets get the chance to make a few pounds on their good fortune, just as the performers will make a few pounds (or more) on increased record sales etc, resulting from the massive worldwide television and internet audience, and those who want to attend the concert, albeit having to buy their tickets can and will love every minute of it.
hmmmm, anyone really got any problems with this?
I still got two tickets left but intend to go at present thoughbut I couldnt possibly sell them for a profit .... or could I? ..... hehehe
toodles ..... karen0 -

Why don't you give them to the charity of your choice who can then auction them on the "charities" pages of eBay?0 -
There are still plenty of live 8 tickets on ebay, most seem to get scam busted but some are slipping through. There were a couple earlier listed as 'Bob's concert in Hyde Park'.
Sums it up rather doesn't it?
