Have always wondered why the POPLA info. & advice isn't post 2.

And maybe a contents list first, maybe?

if it is amended this weekend , then I suggest you back up the posts into notepad or wordpad before next thursday, when the forum is shutting down for up to a day and we cannot be sure that old info will be retained in the new revamped forum

transferring the info from the old forum to the new one is only as good as the IT experts doing it , and we know what happened when TSB left Lloyds

    https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/nov/19/tsb-it-meltdown-report-computer-failure-accounts

as for the order of posts , I would suggest

    post #2 - Acronyms , POFA , CRA ,EA2010 etc
post #3 - Appealing a pcn from any private parking company
post #4 - BPA members appeals to POPLA
post #5 - NOT appealing to the IAS

(hopefully this will disappear when the government system starts and post #4 can deal with the common system for ALL accredited parking companies)

post #6 - Debt collector letters and anything in between appeals and court
    post #7 - Court cases , SAR , GDPR , LBA/LBCCC/LBC etc
post #8 - Court Case Set asides
post #9 - any other business like ManCo/MA / ALMO etc as in the next post below

or some other similar system, 9 posts or less , so people can be told which post or posts they should read

perhaps start a NEW ONE , DATED 2020 , for them all as one new NEWBIES thread, from next Friday , and get it made into a sticky and locked thread by crabman or soolin , having the old one unstickied and merged into the archive thread for posterity

then you wont get questions like "is this up to date ?" or "the newbies thread dates back to 2013 , is it still relevant ?"

    background

I have and/or am moderator and/or admin on some vbulletin forums that help others etc , so know a bit about tidying up posts , and threads etc , especially sticky threads like this one , hence the suggestions , lol

Although not mentioned before some definitions of ManCo/MA and their responsibilities would help those of us trying to assist on estate queries

    Building on Redx's suggestion:
as for the order of posts , I would suggest

... perhaps the introductory post #1 could include a link to post #2, and a link to post #3, etc.

I.e. a clickable index to the other posts on the thread.

NeilCr, can you write some here in a reply and I will link to your post?

Thanks everyone, keep any more suggestions coming.

Coupon_Mad - not sure if this helps or not!

To be honest the link that Redx has provided gives a pretty good starting point

I'd add that Management Companies are often set up by the developer on a new build estate and then handed on/sold on completion to residents or a freeholder

In a Resident Management Company (RMC) every property owner has a share in the company. Directors are appointed from among the owners and they make the overall decisions in running the estate. In most larger developments a Managing Agent (MA) will be appointed to carry out the actual duties. They can advice/inform the RMC but cannot make any decisions on policy. Even though it says residents someone who is a tenant living on the estate has no say. That would be their landlord

If you want to find more about your Management Company or if there is one) You can ask your neighbours. Most Management Companies take their name from the estate - for example the Oak Tree Estate will likely have a Management Company called Oak Tree Management Company (or something close to that). An online search using that will get you information about directors, contact details etc.

Also add some info about the landlord and tenant laws , including that voting option and the percentage in favour etc

Those who know about it know what I am referring to

Might get a bit over complicated to be honest

I wonder if there is a need for a separate post on residential parking. I know it's easy to say - and I am not the one doing the work- but a clear index as suggested by Redx upthread would help. Having just had a look at the sticky (which is an amazing feat!) for the first time in a while it is pretty daunting - especially, if it is your first time here
