Have you all heard of Olio? It's a system where food about to go out of date that day is distributed to volunteers who post it online for locals to pick up free. I used it for the first time today and can see it would be really beneficial if you live near one of the organisers. I had two large bags of cooking apples which are off the local organiser's own tree, but there were plenty of bags of salad from a mainstream supermarket and fresh food is regularly on the list.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

I had a very strange thing happen.
Last yesr, I froze some redcurrants, and a few days ago got them out of the freezer and defrosted them.
They looked fine, absolutely normal, but they smelled and tasted horrid. I tried eating a few with some cream, but I had to give up, and in the end, compost-binned the lot. ☹️What do you reckon went wrong?(I just lurve spiders!)

A major food cupboards sort out has resulted in just one ood item that is safer to bin than use - the contents (sandwich spread) have gone into compost bin & the glass jar will be washed & added to my small supply of jars for next years chutney.Be Kind.
