No waste for ages, I'm pleased to say!
Plus, with the compost bin, my food waste recycling bin hardly ever gets put out. Maybe once a month for some cheese rind, which I save up in the fridge and put it out all at once. I did once add some buttery spread (Benecol) to the waste bag, which was well out of date, as I either don't use much or I use loads, so I either run out or have some left over for ages. About two tablespoons went in the bag with the month's worth of cheese rind.
At the start of lockdown, I stocked up on porridge oats and oatmilk. Then I went off eating porridge. Now I have 2 large cartons of oatmilk that need used by about three weeks' time. I'm trying to psyche myself up into a porridge mood! Don't want to waste them.(I just lurve spiders!)

It's getting colder now so perhaps you'll want porridge for breakfast again to warm you up! Could the oat milk be frozen? I freeze cartons of cows milk but no idea about oat milk but I would have thought it would freeze.

Can you use the oat milk in smoothies? Are you off oats or just porridge as there are always overnight oats where you can use both upLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin3

Nothing binned 🥳
We are now definitely into soup weather 😉 (Very off piste, I am knitting hand warmers - I want to delay switching on the CH until October + will be knitting for the homeless as I am sure they will be put back on the streets now the weather is turning colder 👿 Very cynical I know.
Anyway back on track, we had takeaway Thursday night which was enough for Friday as well. Last night was a rather scrummy hm spaghetti Bolognese (using hg tomatoes & the last of the veg box carrots & mushrooms) Two bags of sauce into freezer. This week I must set my mind to hm soups & hm bread as well as baking a few treats - it will kill 2 birds with one stone as the kitchen though small is freezing 🥶
Stay safe ladies & gents

😭 had to bin 50ml double cream 😭
Saturday night’s dinner was rump steak, fried onions, roasted mushrooms & hg tomatoes, peas & oven chips. DH made a gravy. Also Roasted various vegetables - cauliflower, cucumber, beetroot, parsnips, hg tomatoes, red onions & potatoes in olive oil & seasoned with paprika for a soup. Transferred to a large saucepan & Added the lo gravy, lo peas & lo roasted tomatoes + 500ml water & heated on hob. I took the decision to mash rather than zizz - so have a chunky soup. Very tasty 😋 - I had some for lunch.
Monday's dinner was sausages, mash & plum tomatoes for DSis. DH & I had savoury mince in the scooped out winter melon (from neighbour’s allotment) - topped with grated Parmesan & slices of mozzarella - cooked in the oven. The cheese made it 😉Everything now used from veg box & a good job too as next one is due Wednesday night 😉Be Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. I am working my way through my freezer and found, LO tomato sauce, LO lentil stew and some bits of carrot and cooked split pea. bunged them all into a slow cooker and left it to cook for about 5 hours, planning on making a soup, it kinda turned into a lentil-strone , cos there was pasta and some veg in the tomato sauce. so I then whizzed it and had a taste, I think it tastes amazing and will have some with the LO sausages I cooked up yesterday. I love the kinda random never make again soups lol keeps things interesting..today's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.

I made a pappa al pomodoro soup yesterday to use up some of the tomatoes from the garden and some chunks of stale bread. It was really tasty and enough for 2 portions each for me and hubby. Will finish it today for lunch.3

Any suggestions for using up one and a quarter frozen avocado defrosted to bake chocolate avocado cake ( which I'm too tired to make) .
It's not nice tasting as is and I have a quarter of one that didn't ripen at all so went into the freezer.
Guacamole is the obvious answer but I am concerned that the fruit was a bit 😝 before it went on the freezer
