I'm trying to avoid them they are far too expensive and they don't sell the ones I usually buy.

The last portion of the ropey beef joint has been slow cooked (7hrs at 130C) with carrots, onion, potatoes, tomatoes & stock pots with mixed herbs, Worcestershire sauce & a squeeze of tomato purée. Absolutely delicious 🤤 with cauliflower florets & mashed potato for DSis but mashed sweet potato, carrot & parsnip for DH & I.The last of the old carrots, onions, swede, potatoes, cauliflower leaves & tomatoes have been chopped, bagged & frozen ready for my next hm soup. All peelings composted.Be Kind. Two duck breasts & 2 venison steaks from freezer used to feed 3 people for 2 dinners. All fresh food has been used up (apart from half a dozen ageing potatoes 😉) Absolutely no food wasted 😁Be Kind. I used up some beef that was left over from our roast dinner on Easter Sunday by making stir fried sesame beef strips with egg fried rice for lunch today, it was really tasty! My in laws bought us a beef joint too in case we couldn't get one, so I think i'm going to slow cook that one, slice it then freeze it in portions for future roast dinners.5

Unfortunately due to the current situation, we had to let the butler go & he took the caviar & Bolly in lieu of his wages 🤣
We are back to mince dishes 😉
250g of mince was stretched out with lots of mushrooms & precooked red lentils to make a bolognese sauce - managed 3 nights dinners for 3 people - waste not, want not 😂Be Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £379.00

I haven't put my head around the door much lately, catching up on many great ideas thank you.
I need to stay safe for 12 weeks and OH to venture out as much as possible to avoid bringing nasties home. Had a fair stock cupboard anyway and as soon as I could see how awful this virus was going to be I started buying a few extra bits. Have been working my way through freezer and fridges to us up all the bits and bats, didn't want to be left struggling for supplies with only the less appealing things lurkingI haven't kept a record, never thought to note them here, but the next challenge is 3/4 jar Cranberry Sauce, thinking I will swirl it thorough a sponge mixture to make some buns, I love things a bit tart rather than too sweet.
The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)4 -
