My CreditKarma report showed last week that the account has been marked as settled.

Had a message today asking me how I found the new app, even though account is in credit and no transactions since March

Tandem are withdrawing their credit cards - both the free Journey one and the cashback one (which became part of their £5.99 membership plan) in November.
They are also scrapping their Membership scheme

Glad I didn't spend any time trying to make it work! I didn't trust them to keep it worth my while.

I have to say I've been quite happy with Tandem.  Had £85k in their associated 'Tandem Account' paying 1.25%, beating NS&I's top-paying Income Bonds at 1.16%, so even after the £5.99 fee, I was a few quid better off each month.

I guess the numbers just weren't working out for Tandem, so it's sad to see them pull their deals (the Tandem Account is dropping to 0.5%), but I think it is now time to move on.

Where have people been turning to for load-free foreign currency transactions?

The Barclaycard Rewards credit card is your best bet. There are no fees for using it abroad and it pays 0.25% cashback on all transactions.

So what are there plans for the credit card.  Is it completely close down.

It looks like they are closing down the credit cards, focusing on savings until they have enough deposits to start lending mortgages. They merged with lender Allium recently.
