Tandem Cashback ending 9th March

I received my last statement (after they stopped me using the card) which I believe included all cashback.
I paid it and then they closed the account.
Seems strange they closed the account before you received your last statement / paid them.... I'd go back and understand the sequence of events with them again. Hopefully they / you would then understand the fairness of what they did or not, and resolve. If unresolved and you've lost out I'd ask how to make a complaint and follow up.1 -
Account closure is after you've paid the final statement. The statement date will be the usual statement date on your account.
Tandem have frozen cards on 9th March but the statements will be produced as usual.1 -
My statements were produced on 3rd of the month.penners324 said:Account closure is after you've paid the final statement. The statement date will be the usual statement date on your account.

So, March statement was 3 Feb to 2 March - Cashback paid
Tandem blocked accounts on 9 March
Final Statement was 3 April which had transactions from 2 March to 5 March - Cashback not paid.
Tandem are saying as they produced the statement (3 April) after they blocked/closed the account (9 March), I can't have cashback on those transactions as per the T&C's.
I've filed a complaint because as far as I'm concerned I had no control of the statement dates or closing of account. I can understand that if I closed the account, I might not get the cashback as per the T&C's but Tandem were in complete control on this situation and as such the cashback should be paid for the transactions on the last statement.

I'd feel the same way if I'd had that experience.

FYI. Don't delete your app just yet even if you've closed the account.
Have just received a statement from Tandem despite receiving an email on the 23 March confirming my account had been closed. The statement was for the period dated 27/03/20 - 27/04/2020. Thankfully there were no charges. I haven't used my card since December. Live chat was quick and they are making sure account is now properly closed
Worth just keeping an eye on emails & the App in case.0 -
I would expect a statement for your first statement date after 9th March showing all the charges up to that date. And if your statement is 9th-11th March, you might get charges appearing on the following statement. Then I would expect a statement for the following month showing that you paid off the previous statement and the balance is now £0.Polarpenguin said:FYI. Of course if you didn't pay the statement in full, then you would get more statements showing the interest charge and the remaining balance.0 -
Yes, same here. However, it's not a problem if you've deleted the app, you can just install it again.Polarpenguin said:FYI. Don't delete your app just yet even if you've closed the account.

Card was last used in November & paid of in full in December, so no chance of trailing interest or any remaining balance. Card was cut up as soon as announcement of changes made for this reason. Tandem agreed it shouldn't have been generated as card was closed by them and confirmed closed, prior to the period covered by the statement issued today. I suspect that the current situation coinciding with them having to close a large number of accounts has caused a few gremlins.jbryce said:
