I wish they'd stop recomending Swagbucks, it's just not appropriate without warning of the vast array of dodgy content that joining exposes us to.
Certainly at one stage many of the click through sites (or sites connected to them) on swagbucks were covered in the competitions section on here as possible spam producers and generally not to be touched
I would have thought that Shaw academy which has been extensively promoted on swagbucks would be enough for MSE to warn about it or stop recommending Swagbucks4 -
thisone said:Morning folks, maybe it's not been noticed due to a lack of surveys but the support system has changed. Seeking to open a ticket directs us to the activity log, where low and behold at least one started and not credited survey has shown.Having had the usual non-crediting problem with the 70SB SurveyRouter one from the Home Page, I went to the Activity Log and there was absolutely no sign of it - in fact, despite my having completed various activities already this morning, there was nothing whatsoever shown on the Visited tab. So eventually I found an entry from a few days ago where I hadn't been credited (I had closed down the survey without completing it) and clicked on the Help icon. This took me to the usual form, but it is now atI double-checked with other items from my Activity log, and that URL does not include any reference to the actual entry; it is just the ticket form for surveys. Submitting it got me the usual autoresponse, so now we'll see what happens.

Majority of the surveys pay far less than going direct to an actual survey site (in some cases less than 10% so every £10 you get from surveys on swagbucks could have paid £100 or more going direct)
this is from the "alerts" site (which will probably be a third part that swagbucks accept no responsibility for - like most offers)2. Optout
To Optout just reply ‘stop’ to any of the service messages received on your handset. This text message is not case sensitive, however any other variation of this text may not be accepted (E.G. Please stop). Please only consider the service successfully stopped once you have received a FREE reply text message from the same shortcode, to the effect of “All services on this shortcode are now stopped. Text back in to restart the most recent. Customer Services 0330 057 0895”. If you have not received a text message to this effect then please contact us to confirm your signup has been cancelled. If you are signed up to more than one shortcode, you must send a stop request to each shortcode to end all services or subscriptions. Standard rate charges may apply to messages sent.
Please only consider the service successfully stopped once you have received a FREE reply text message, to this effect 'You have been removed from Alerts for You Help? 0330 057 0895' confirming that you have been unsubscribed. If you have not received a text message to this effect then please contact us to confirm your subscription has been cancelled. If you are subscribed to more than one service billed then you must send a stop request for each service or simply text STOP ALL.
If you optout from the service within 14 days then you have an opportunity to claim a refund for charges of the first two weeks that the service took place within the 14 day period, should you wish to do so. If you wish to do this within 14 days of your entry date, then please contact Customer Services on 0330 057 0895.
maybe something useful here

Please can I ask, If the returns are so low for surveys through swagbucks, whats this thread about? Do you use swagbucks as a way of finding out where the good paying surveys are on other sites, and then go direct to those sites to do the survey therefore getting paid more? I think If I did persevere with it, I would probably have to find out much more about how it works, like you suggest, getting a separate email etc. Is there a way of making sure you fit the demographic for being accepted for more surveys?
Thanks for the advice anyway x0 -
There are more ways to earn SB than just surveys. You can earn 10SB a day by playing games, small (or occasionally large) wins of SB by using its Search facility, checking out Discover offers, many of which lead to surveys (e.g. Theorem Reach on Revenue Universe), little things like the Daily Poll or ticking off the daily Todo list, or running Hideout videos which you can cash in for SB when needed. Then there are half-a-dozen nCrave offers running advertisements which credit a set number of times here and there throughout the day, the URLs for which you will find in this thread if you search it for nCrave. And at the end of each month, you get a bonus, the size of which depends on how often you have met your daily targets. In the last 30 days I have earned 8340 SB, which I redeem for e-Mastercards at a rate of £5 for 500SB. (I then use the e-Mastercards to top up my Amazon gift card balance.) So you can earn a fair amount if you are willing to spend a few hours a day; I am retired, so that is no problem to me. But of course Swagbucks is nothing like the easy earner that it used to be - and has also been affected by the pandemic, like everyone else, in that it attracts less advertising - and the advertising is how it makes its money. So it has been cutting back and back on what it pays out to the likes of us.

Lindos - Swagbucks used to be better and has gradually been getting worst the last couple of years. I recently rejoined but seeing what it's like now, I think I'm just going to cashout and go. I've gotten over 500 points in just over a week without signing up to anything. Might carry one with the the games/codes/searches as they aren't too much effort but will probably stop surveys unless I'm bored and I don't want to risk any of the Discover offers.
If you are looking to make money - I'd sign up direct for survey-sites (like YouGov), join panels/focus groups or find something that get you money doing something you don't mind/would do anyway e.g. I used Bing and InboxPounds for searches (but supposedly they are closing soon so be careful).1 -

Supposedly 29 SB available but not always possible. I used to be able to do them all in one go, but at the moment if you do them too quickly after one another it says "activity not available". I generally have to do them on and off all day.
Thanks to all those that post.2 -
Had a gold survey fail to payout yesterday. Put in a ticket via the activity log and it's paid out today, ticking off my to do list and nearly completing my daily log. Very pleased.2
