Just cashed out for first time. Went for a MasterCard £5 gift card which was only 500 points. Find this bizarre given that a £10 card in 1300 points. If this goes well I’ll get a 2nd one and I’ll have had £10 for 1000 points.
Am I missing something, is there a catch?

Good spot - I've just ordered two and have had 1000 SB deducted - let's see if they turn up!
Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?

No catch - their "sales" are weird and illogical, and it's just a matter of grabbing whatever is best value at the time.  However, a Swago starts at 4pm today, so it's best to wait until then before ordering any more gift cards, as there will almost undoubtedly be a square for that on the board.

Wow! Great find. I’ve always waited for £50 @6500SB as this has always been the best, plus I transfer it to PayPal and pay the transaction fee, so i now need to work out if 5x the transaction fee is worth 1500SB...need to get my brain in order!

Just use it towards a purchase (or bill if accepted) and the money saved effectively becomes cash at no cost (I've never done it but somewhere* in this or the last thread people say what they have done )

(*someone was using the cards to wards an EE account)

I use the e-Mastercards to top up my Amazon balance, for which I get the full £5.

Bigger doesn't necessarily mean better value - at one stage the £5 Amazon voucher was the best value Amazon voucher and  one of the best value ones on there regardless of type - the prices per £ vary both by value and type of reward and don't remain constant

    Way back the numbers were
"The giftcard prices vary a bit even within the same type of card some of them are - £10 best value Amazon, £5 best Mastercard and anything except £5 for M&S

    £5 Amazon 720, £10 1360, £25 3600, £50 7200, £100 14400
    £5 Mark&S 720, £10 1360, £25 3400, £50 6800, £100 13600
    £5 Mastcrd 700, £10 1440, £25 3600, £50 7200, £100 14400

Debenhams and John Lewis £10 to £50 are the same cost per £ and the same as M&S (Although they don't appear to offer them now)

Paypal works out to 800 bucks per £5 whatever value

  • I was wondering if you could pay the e-MasterCard into someone else’s Amazon account? Or can you only pay it into your own.

You can pay it into someone else's - or, rather, someone else can pay your card into their account.  They have to be logged into their account in order to add the card to their payment methods, and then top up the balance.
  • Does anyone know how easy the mastercard one is to use? Can you use both online and offline? Thanks in advance
