You go to Amazon's Payments page, and click on "Add a credit or debit card". Enter the details - be sure to get the expiry date right - and set it as the default method of payment. Then go to the Top Up page; this has changed in the last couple of days, so you enter the amount (£5) and click on "Buy now". Sometimes it will still default to whatever card you originally had there, so be sure to click on "Change" and select your new card before you continue. You will get an e-mail of acknowledgement from Amazon, and five or ten minutes later there will be another e-mail to say that the top up has taken place; then you can go back to the Payments page and delete the used-up card. There is no longer any messing with the £1 deduction, thank heavens.(But if you enter the card details wrong, Amazon will nag you for several days saying "Your payment has been declined". Just ignore these e-mails; they will eventually stop.)1

Drat! Wish I'd see this a couple of hours ago. Oh well....

Yes, you can do the process from different points; I only detailed one of the possible ways to skin this particular cat. But don't forget to delete the used card, or Amazon might try to use it for a future order - and then whinge because the card is refused!

Peanuts (so well named?) - I was banned (falsely categorised as a liar) for ages and now get offered Peanut Lab surveys. I answer, they collect data (not much but are clearly collecting the Covid symptom responses) and then get thrown off without even 1 SB for "over quota". No more: I'll just close the page when I see it transferring to Peatnuts.0

I'm finding it very annoying how many times you have to answer the same demographic questions on here only to be rejected from every single survey0

sometimes you actually end up spending quite a lot of time answering a survey only it to tell you after a few minutes in that you do not qualify. !!!!!!0
