Hi pip!! I have :rotfl:onthewayup is my best mate who lives next door but one (we're sad mse buddies too! i think she got fed up of me banging on about it and thought 'if you cant beat em...' ) and as soon as i saw the baileys coffee on offer i was straight round there. had it and now i'm back!
yeah, driving test rubbish! really wish i could drive  not thinking about it until next time now - blocking it out out out of my mind!!
ps - our tumble drier doesn't work so we instead have clothes hanging off every available radiator causing condensation! still, i've gone a whole day without eating out so  (low cal beer obv!)MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

So pleased to hear about the Baileys...
I too do the radiator thing... my Drier does work but is not handy & I hate seeing the nimbers flash round on the meter if I use it!
On the same save money be thinner thread.. Slim girl's clothes weigh less so cheaper to wash ..you would get more in the machine at once!
I know, not very punchy or catchy, but it's late!!

Hi Roxie, just popping in to say hi. Girl you are on the roll, doing really well :j . I'm on my way to check out £10 a day challenge, you inspired me. By the way have you tried Bach's Rescue remedy drops before a test? Very good in moments like that. Saying that I didn't know of it when I passed my test (2nd time), I just took "I don't care, I'll just drive" attitude. I must admit I like driving so I guess that helps too.
Anyway it's late and I still need to check about the challenge. Good luck.Official DFW Member no:4100 -
morning all!
hi mrs-d - i'll look out for you on the £10 a day challenge - keep me posted with how you're doing! i think the second month is going to be hard as I've aleady ebayed everything and claimed all the free cashbacks on quidco. oh, well, guess I'll just have to be abit imaginative!
a friend and her little girl are coming to mine to play this morning - which is good as we'd n0rmally go to the playcentre and spend £10 - £15 including lunch.
Hoping for a low spend day today - just £4 to pay for the boys to see a play at school. Not sure what to budget that under - let me have a quick look!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

hi mad old tory! thanks for popping in!
morning doodle, the loft THE LOFT??? good god, venture in there and i may well loose an arm.Seriously thou, its amazing how much stuff we have that we never use/look at and wouldn't notice if it was all gone tomorrow isn't it?
thinking i might ebay the bridemaid dresses that dales sisters wore to our wedding this spring - if they dont want to keep them. i'd never be able to ebay my wedding dress but bridesmaids are different. in fact, his oldest sister threw a strop on the day because she wasn't on the top table (we sat her with her boyfriend instead of her dad - thought she'd prefer it!) and stormed off home. We haven't spoken to her since. Dale wanted to send her a £400 bill for her dress/jewelry/dinner and drinks for her and her boyf. So it wouldn't surprise me if she hadn't ripped hers to shreds! will get dale to ask mum in law.MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

ok - looking at the figures I think I'm off to a head start this month. :j
I dont have my next test/lessons to pay for (maybe just 1), as the dvla  are refunding me, so that'll cut £100 from the driving budget - which will be going straight to the savings.
so Dec £100/£700. :T
after much careful consideration, I've decided to lump 'family fun', 'todds activities' and 'boys football' together to make a big £180 budget that i can keep track of easier. This is because there isn't any football this month to pay for so with it being xmas we'll prob put the money towards an extra outing or something.
so I'm taking the £4 play money out of the £180 for kids activites.
kids activities £4/£180
it seems to be going so far so good - trouble is, its not even Dec yet!!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

Hi Roxie
I'm enjoying this thread - good luck to you and your family.
My situation is I have £8000 (creeping up to almost 9 now) student loan that I don't start to pay back until April as I only finished uni in July. I still have most of it in the bank that I'm planning on spending on a deposit for a house in the near future. I'd love to at least have that money in the bank again afterwards so I could either pay it off in one go, or earn interest on it (more than it gains!). I've played around with the figures and don't have more than £200 to save each month by strict budgeting...also I want to have a holiday next year (not had one for about 3 years) and I need a car that doesn't break down for work!
I'll be reading your diary with interest - good luck on the driving test btw - I remember my foot shaking on the pedal!March 2016 - £178,914.59; July 2017 £146,160.38
Mortgage end Sept 2043; Target - pay off by March 2022, now Sept 2021
Target balance July 2018 £112,5600 -
I dont know much about where you live... but when my cousins were much younger we made a fun day out of going to the park, or seaside. Only spent about a tenner a day. I understand having family days are important to you... but they dont always have to be expensive.
You can get deals through Tesco Clubcard for days out. And lastmin.com has some brilliant deals too. I paid £14 total for me and my OH to go to Legoland last year (normally £30 each) by booking 3 months in advance.
Good Luck!0
