brilliant - just got the all clear for the car and then the test centre calls saying the have to cancel cos they haven't got an instructor - with 2 hours to go!! ridiculous - i'd been doing my mantras and everything. now i'm gonna have to wait about 2 months for a retest which means forking out for more lessons between now and then so i dont forget what i'm doing. what a nightmare! and i'll have it hanging over me over xmas andn prob have to take my test in freezing blizzard conditions. total bummer.

on a positive note - i was just clearing out the numerous handbags I have on the go at any one time and found a cheque for £16.80. :j I haven't got a clue what its for  but woohooo anyway.

that means I'm only £1.20 short of the £10 a day challenge for Nov - 2 days to go!! total £298.80! :D

really happy with that - will def be doing the challenge next month!

Sorry to hear about your test. That's really unfair, but on the positive side, you've got two months! And wow on the November challenge - I've never done one of those challenges because I don't think I'd manage the first week!

hi rb - yeah, it sucks. i'll now have to wait forever and keep having lessons to refresh me - so more money. gonna forget about it now anyway until closer to the time.

You should give the £10 a day challenge a go for Dec - I looked at it and thought no way can I do that but tada!!:j nearly made it! a friend of mine did it in about 2 weeks too! it really motivates me to do the little bits and pieces that can make extra money - and gave me ideas on where to start too. Hopefully I'll see you over there??!

    :santa2: evening all!

well, crappy day with regards to not being able to take my driving test! rubbish!

anyways, went into town after getting boys from school to post some ebays (made about £5 from the postage btw :D) and get some bits and WHAT IS IT ABOUT WILKOS?? I went in there for some - whisper - (ladies things) and came out with a bag full of stuff that I'm sure I needed. I just didn't know it. Including:

    3 pan scourers
    face moisteriser (I've run out)
    sensitive shampoo (running low)
toothpaste - us and kids (running low)
vaseline for lips (its winter and they get chapped!)
sellotape x 2 (bogofs for all the pressie wrapping)
    little chocolate santas/snowmen (bogof)
    advent calenders
a 2008 diary (I do need one!!! honest, i'm scribbling in the end bits at the mo!))

    £28.47 later!!!

Now admittedly, I didn't need the advent calenders or the choc santas but the rest of it I'm sure I did - I just hadn't realised before I went in! At least I didn't buy any more batteries/air fresheners and I steered clear of the xmas decorations - last years will do just fine! We do need a tree though!

On the positive I bought the grocery bits we need to see us through the end of the week and I saved £7 through bogofs, spending £13.

    Total spent today £45.32

So Dec grocery budget 45.32/200 (and its not even Dec yet :o).

Another positive- we had a nice cheapy tea tonight. Carbonara and garlic bread which cost £4 for 4 of us - and it was YUMMMMMMY!
