quite scary but as we have two kids its not too bad I guess. you'll notice that i dont have much family on the list so my friends are the family replacements i guess so i spend abit more on friends then probably some people do.
working out the last few bits I need to get for the hampers there's £110 left to spend.
gonna get them last few bits the next time i go shopping and then AVOID the shops like the plague!!!

Hi Roxie,
Firstly, Good Luck with your driving test.
Sounds like you have everything worked out and have a determined attitude. I'm sure you will succeed in achieving your goal. It sounds like you have a sensible outlook and a house sounds like a worthy target.
Look forward to checking your diaries for updates.

Hi Roxy, I think you are doing brilliantly. I agree that being young has nothing to do with it.
I was 23 when I bought my first flat, when all of my university friends were p~~ssing around renting, and travelling. I learnt very quickly about budgeting and running a home and the tricks that can be applied.
Now I am 29, own a 4 bed house with my fiance and am expecting our first child in March. Meanwhile, my uni friends are still renting, travelling and saving up for their first sofas.
But just because I am settled and 'grown up' doesn't mean that I can't get a lot out of this board - and who would admit to not needing a collective @@@ up the backside every now and again?!
Ps. I passed on my fourth go, i think I was successful due to bursting into tears the moment I got in the car, and being lucky enough to have a guy who was happy to talk to me about his grandchildren to calm me down and stop me crying! If yours looks sympathetic, you could always try that!!0 -
Hi smartcat- thanks for the words of encouragement. i think having to report bacvk to this diary will help me to think twice before blowing the budget in future!
Hi action girl - glad you agree. age is nothing but a number! good luck with the baby - congrats! keep me posted on the pregnancy! re driving tests - i cry all the time. i cry before and i definately cry after! i think its worse as i go along because i just get more and more desperate to pass. resigned to failure tomo thou - in fact dont even if there will be a car for me to take my test in yet! hopefully i'll be so expecting to fail that i'll sail throu - god i hope so! i dont think my nerves can take many more tests. :eek:MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

I think you're doing great Roxie, I'm 25 too and have a car.....and that's it! I still live at home with mum n dad
.
I'm in debt with my student loan and I owe my parents about £4000, you've got so much more than me, hell I don't even have a boyfriend anymore (though that's not a bad thing as he spent all my money!).
Good luck with the saving, I hope you do itTrying to sort my life out, and I'm going to get there!0 -
Thanks Gems for the encouragement - hey at least getting rid of the boyfriend is a good thing!MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j
