One day we will look back on all this and shudder 😩 We just need to get through it and come out the other end safe and sound. I dread to think how much it’s costing 😱
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • I found that the little corner shop is the only place I can get yeast from, I'm keeping it a secret so no one else can get at it apart from my Mum of course! Might be worth trying the smaller local shops instead of the supermarkets?

    Hope you're having a lovely weekend, H x
Thanks Huggle, I pass a co op when i'm at work so will pop in later in the week and have a look.

My DD is having down days to, I figure we all are, so why would be expect kids not to.  I feel for them, but we have just talked about that we are lucky we are safe together etc and that this won't be forever.  Usually the next day or hour (!) she is more upbeat!  Lots of cuddles!
Hi DFOD, yes my daughter has been the same, has a bit of a downer and then picks up as we all do. She is missing her boyfriend but we have chatted about it and I've told her that she is lucky she can facetime etc, this time will pass.

Your right SA, I just keep thinking this time will pass, things will get better. We are healthy, have an income, food in the cupboards and a safe place to live  and isolate ourselves, some people are not that fortunate.

  • DH braved MR S at the weekend, he said it wasn't too bad and didn't mind standing outside in the sunshine. He spend £109 :# he did use a £20 gift card and £20 nectar points so was £69 in actual money, I checked the receipt and it was right, just didn't seem to have a lot for the amount, prices are going up and the choice isn't the same but just have to get on with it and manage the best we can. He also couldn't get bread flour or yeast.
Finances are ticking along, sent £75 to CC this morning, also redeemed £2 in amazon gift vouchers. I'm trying to keep up with surveys on days i'm not at work, have done a couple this morning, I have a zoom school lesson this afternoon so will fit some in around that.
Looks as though today is going to be the only day of sunshine as rain forecast for the rest of the week, so better get the washer on.

I forget how difficult the lockdown must be for teens, particularly when they are used to independence and are now stuck at home.  Does she have a hobby or interest she can throw herself into.  My DN18 has a part time job in a supermarket and is working all the overtime she can to keep herself busy.
  • It's hard for everyone isn't it for different reasons, but i do feel for teens, though as you say they have video etc.
