My Santander Regular Saver issue 2 is still open. The first standing order payment went in the day after the account was opened. I don't envisage there being any problems receiving the full interest on either issue.
Two things bother me about going to the effort of trying to open a second Regular Saver (I have Issue 1). I would enquire first from my Select man.
1. The interest rate is variable and 2. when I opened my Issue 1 account (which had to be in branch or on the phone - I did it on the phone) I had to suffer an hour of the most in-depth search into my personal life ever. And I have accounts, credit cards at Santander and I'm a Select Customer. The T&Cs of Issue 2 show that the requirement hasn't changed.0 -
Chanced upon a branch of Marsden Building Society this morning. They have just started a Regular Saver paying 1.8% on £250 per month for 12 months. You have to be an existing customer, I didn't ask what with. Not online either. Deposits by SO.0

I wonder how many people still have this Regular Saver?
I still have this Issue 1 Regular Saver with the Yorkshire. I hope they don't close it, but I expect it will close soon, given the bonus they offer on it.0 -
I don't think YBS will wind up the Issue 1 Regular Saver. Because of the £20,000 limit and it being existing account holders only for ages there will be very few people who can put additional money into this account.0

Hi Folks,
I have completed this weekend's update for the first page of this thread.
- Cambridge BS Regular Saver (issue 4) withdrawn; removed from post 4 (I have actually removed it this time!)progressive have reduced its regular saving reduced to1.5%
I have looked at the Progressive BS and moneysupermarket.com websites and they are not showing a drop in the interest rate. Did you get a letter saying it was going to drop and on a particular date?
I will do another update next weekend.

Y.B.S - Regular Saver -
I would rather not speculate on such a well known public forum as it might given Y.B.S ideas, nothing at all to be gained by speculating/yip, yapping away about it, everything to lose potentially though.
I thought this was what this thread was for - taken from O/P
"This thread is meant to complement Martin Lewis' article which you can read here: Regular Savings Accounts and the accompanying discussion thread Regularly Beat the Best Savings Account Rates Discussion Area"
As opposed to those testing their clairvoyance abilities (or lack of as may be the case) regarding a regular saver account that was closed to new account openings years ago.0 -
Have been reading comments about the Santander Regular eSaver account where max deposit is £200 per month. I opened this account in May this year at 5% interest rate. I understand their latest version is Issue 2 which gives 3% interest. My documentation indicated that my 5% was a variable rate yet I have received no communication saying there has been any reduction in my rate which is surprising with so many rates being lowered at present. Does anyone know if I'm still getting the 5% on this? Many thanks.0
