I just checked it from here. Chorley BS RSA , it is not available for new customer anymore ??
http://www.chorleybs.co.uk/savings.html
If it is still available it is good as we could open it b post and then top it up up to £500 monthly and no maturity. Two penalty free withdrawal each year could be used as an exit strategy.0 -

Alas, your answer is here (got this from the new link at the top of Chorley's Savings page)

The Chorley Regular Saver Issue 1 is now closed to new customers AND the rate drops from 2.0% to 1.75% as of 1st September.
I have one of these myself, but have not received any communication from Chorley about the rate drop.0 -
I am about to apply for this
http://www.bucksbs.co.uk/savings/regular-saver-accounts/simple-regular-saver-issue-2-40619/
Becasuse:
Interest rate: 2% gross p.a. variable
Penalty-free withdrawals: Yes, as many as you wish provided minimum £10 balance left in account
How to open account: Post or branch
And no maturity Date
Am aware this is variable but Does anyone has any communication mentioning the change of interest rate in the next few month ??0 -

I think this is a new rate already? Because my issue 1 will be dropped to 2.25% from September.0 -

Got the same letter myself today. Never had a Regular Saver account before where you're not permitted to save regularly! Ts & Cs appear to not require compulsory regular payments on this one though.0 -

The current Issue 2 rate is different to your (closed) Issue 1. Bucks isn't the only BS to pay different rates on different issues.
Where did you get notification that your rate was changing? I have an issue 2. I've had no letter from Bucks, but I spoke to them today and was told there would later be a 0.25% interest rate drop on most accounts, with letters going out in mid September.0 -
The Bucks have not yet reduced rates as result of the recent bank rate reduction. And their regular saver terms permit only one change of monthly deposit per annum.
(They are a nice Society so might offer 'free' change of amounts when reducing rates, but there is no certainty about this).
Anyone looking for 2% accounts, unless they already have them, or can't get them, would be wise to look at Principality, Halifax, and TSB, who all have 2% fixed rate regular savers (still) available today.

(p.s. I am assuming that the Bucks 2.25% will drop to 2% later in September)0 -
Note for SS2..... maybe I am going mad...but cannot see the Halifax 2% in the list of accounts. I see Bank of Scotland, but the Halifax seems to be slightly different as they do not require a current account, just an 'Everday Saver' which has to be opened at same time as the Regular saver.
