Note for SS2..... maybe I am going mad...but cannot see the Halifax 2% in the list of accounts. I see Bank of Scotland, but the Halifax seems to be slightly different as they do not require a current account, just an 'Everday Saver' which has to be opened at same time as the Regular saver.
    Regards. Ted

I think that Halifax isn't in the list because the terms weren't, great ie you weren't allowed withdrawals. It looks like this is changing in the new t&cs starting tomorrow, 2nd.

(They are a nice Society so might offer 'free' change of amounts when reducing rates, but there is no certainty about this).

Anyone looking for 2% accounts, unless they already have them, or can't get them, would be wise to look at Principality, Halifax, and TSB, who all have 2% fixed rate regular savers (still) available today.
    )

BOS and Scottish BS as well. Also I think when they already reduce the interest to 2% there is little chance that they will change it, even if it was flexible .....

Bank of Scotland Current Account with Vantage Option

The post on the first page could usefully add "and pay out 2 direct debits per month", as this new hurdle came into force today.

The Moneyfacts website is showing a new Leeds Building Society Regular Saver (issue 4) account paying 2.3% on up to £250/month. It seems to suggest the account is available from today, but I can see no mention of it on the Leeds BS website - maybe Moneyfacts have been tipped off about the launch.

If it's true, this might be a good account for some people as if it's the same as previous issues, there is no end date.

I wonder if they will let people hold issues 3 and 4 of this account. Though based on their previous tactic, Leeds BS might just close all issue 3 accounts anyway!

It could be true. The last one I open in April 2016 are paying 1.25% + 1.8% conditional bonus = 3.05% percent.

Yes I've got that one too. If you're an existing Leeds BS customer with an online banking logon, the new Issue 4 is showing on the list of accounts you can open. So the issue 4 is definitely coming, but no mention of rate other than on the Moneyfacts site.

That's useful - I closed my accounts with the Leeds when they forced closure of the old issue.

However, I've just checked my online login and it still works and I can apply.

    Sad really - excited about 2.3% :-(
Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?

Yes I've just applied for one too (already have issue 3 and it didn't say anywhere that I couldn't have an issue 4 too, so well see what happens!

It's on the Leeds Building Society website now too which confirms the 2.3% rate:-
    https://www.leedsbuildingsociety.co.uk/savings/access-accounts/regularsaver/

So it's 0.5% with a 1.8% bonus provided you make no more than 1 withdrawal per year. Seems to be no end period, however there is a maximum balance of £6000.
