A friend opened a Santander Regular Saver on what turned out to be three days before Santander changed it to 3%.
They said they were told it was 3%, I questioned this - turns out Santander's email to her confirming it being opened has the 'Issue 2' information sheet attached. But Online Banking does show it as Issue 1.0 -
Kent Reliance have launched Regular Savings account - issue 2, paying 3.25%.
You can pay in £25 - £500 per calendar month.
The rate is variable and the interest is paid at the end of the 12 month period.
The account is branch-based. You can make unlimited withdrawals without penalty.

Regular Saver Wannabe: I'd like to open a Regular Saver Issue 2 account please.
Santander representative: You already have a Regular Saver account sir/madam. Therefore, you can't open another one.
Regular Saver Wannabe: But Kazza242 was allowed to open another Regular Saver.
Santander representative: I'm afraid you can only have one Regular Saver.
*telephone conversation continues with some toing and froing which includes discussion with the manager/senior supervisor (who in actual fact is just their colleague next to them), heated discussion about the 'ambiguous' T&Cs and that Issue 2 is a separate account to Issue 1, etc. Phone call ends with the unsuccessful attempt of opening another Regular Saver*
Santander representative says to colleague: That's the 7th customer I've had today trying it on to open another Regular Saver and the 4th customer to reference 'Kazza242'!
Oh Kazza you little trouble maker.. One of the reasons I opened this account was to see if it was possible. I've since had a callback from Santander asking me to rate the experience of opening the account. Top marks!

My Santander Regular Saver issue 2 is still open. The first standing order payment went in the day after the account was opened. I don't envisage there being any problems receiving the full interest on either issue.
With regards to the Kent Reliance Regular Savings account (issue 2) there seems to be some confusion amongst their staff with regards to whether you are allowed to open an issue 2, if you already have an issue 1.
I would advise being mindful of that if you have the 4% regular savings account (issue 1) and wish to open this new one. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -

The Leeds accounts were great. I've just moved near to a branch and opened the Regular Saver (issue 3) and also the Flexible Regular Saver (with bonus 1.5%) but accepts deposits of £1000 per month.
Variable accounts with no maturity date!
Both no longer available.
Most interestingly the Flexible Regular Saver (1.5%) was withdrawn sometime before RS Issue 3 (3%) which tells us the rate paid isn't everything! The Flexible RS could a great account, good interest, high balances yet allows enough withdrawals. Fingers crossed it doesn't get closed for existing customers....0 -
Hi Everybody,
Sorry, in yesterday's update I missed the Kent Reliance Regular Savings (Issue 2) account. I have now added this in to post 3.

Yes, I did - post 4129.
They don't seem to have a regular saver at all, now.
(They have a 2 year fixed rate ISA issue 16, 1.20%, minimum payment £500. This is available to existing members only).0
