Cambridge website now shows correct date 9th August.

I'm not surprised its being withdrawn though.

No, quite - I was expecting it to be pulled last week, so got a couple of family members to get their applications in then.

For the flex direct account few people have confirmed that the system could pick up if you have two of these accountants and therefore you will only one ac with 5% interest.

Has anyone tried to test the system for RSA whether the system could detect if you open two or more RSAs with Nationwide???
Is there anyway where to ask the monthly interest payment instead of annual, so you could detect it earlier and if the interest is not paid you could close it after one month ??

Personally i don't see why a couple should be able to have individual and joint accounts when a single person is restricted to one.

It might be easier to find yourself someone to open a joint account with than arguing against joint accounts.

Surely that option is only open to a couple. I doubt i could just do this with a friend. I am not arguing against joint accounts. I just don't see why a couple should have 2 individual accounts AND a joint account

You could, but you almost certainly shouldn't!

That's not what's being discussed though is it? (it's a long time since TSB allowed such a set up...and I'm not sure I know any more who currently allow such a set up?)

I seem to remember it's an overnight matter. But may be you have to wait for "next working day processing" now, i.e. it could be Monday or even Tuesday before she can do it online. Have you tried calling them about it? 0800 302010

Just been told via secure messaging that it takes 3 to 5 days for the system to update.

Hope it doesn't take as long as 5 days.

I assume she means an account for each individual person in the couple in conjunction with the joint account.

Maybe I read it wrong then. But the reasons for allowing it are obvious (to me anyway). The joint account is for the household bills, and they each have another account that receives individual income and from where personal spends are made. The bank's intention is to try and stop them banking elsewhere (but it obviously won't work with the people on here!).

That was the set up I had when I was with my partner but that was before there were any financial advantages.
