Regular Savings Accounts: The Best Currently Available List!

I can't understand why Santander haven't arranged online opening for the regular savings account, especially since anyone opening one must already have a Santander Current Account.
I've just opened one by phone. Got through straight away, then spent 15 minutes on the phone to one of their customer service reps whilst they went through the T&C's and actually opened it.
Each Customer Service rep is only going to be able to open a maximum of 4 accounts per hour. Allowing online opening would surely be more cost effective?0 -
Was in branch today for other reasons, asked about new reg saver and have to make an appointment, and no appointments available for ages.
Was told account will be available on line 'in due course'0 -
32 minutes for me, including 10 minutes 'muzak' to begin with.
The very polite young man with the Irish accent then kindly went through it all again for my husband - taking less than 15 minutes.0 -

Just been into branch to set one up, probably around twenty minutes altogether but not helped by the fact that I didn't take my debit card with me.
The lady opening it said it was announced to staff in Friday, they were supposed to be training today so no real notice for staff.0 -
Hmmm, I wasn't asked for 'last 4 digits of debit card, expiry date, CVV code', I wonder why they wanted those?
I was also asked for these details.Dunno, only proves I have the card (or the details...) to hand. I said I'd set up the SO myself, how about you?
Nice young man with the Irish accent offered to transfer me to the team who could set up my SO for me, but I thought it better to have him open an account for my husband saving him the wait time & the muzak:p
My account appeared online in about 30 minutes and I've set up the SO for tomorrow:)0 -
Has anyone received a maturity letter for the Chorley 18 month Sunshine account yet?
It's maturing at the end of this month and automatically changing into an instant access account paying about 0.15% interest so it's possible that they won't be sending out letters.
I'll wait until the middle of next week and if still no maturity letter, I'll post out my passbook with a covering letter.0 -

None here - they originally said they would contact with options 14 days before maturity so I expect an envelope to hit the doorstep before the weekend.Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?0 -

I've got 6. Are there 60 worth having?
Not got the new Santander one yet. Can't face a lengthy phone call or branch visit and have mislaid my debit card, which could complicate matters.3 stone down, 3 more to go0
