Any gain reduces 5.00 a month fee, those with savings in accounts below 3% having exhausted all accounts paying 3%+ will be particularly grateful for this new account.0

Now can someone tell me why it has to be opened by phone or in branchA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I've set the wife the task of sorting this today. Hopefully she'll get around to it.
Thanks for posting.
Edit: I've just noticed this line "Maximum one account per customer, account can only be held in sole name." We have a joint current account, does that mean that a) we can't do this or b) we can have a saver each fed off the one 123 account or c) neither of those two answers?
Cheers
Edit 2: According to the thread in the "Bank Accounts" forum we can have one each. Nice.0 -
Am i missing something? 5% on 200/ month , total after 12 months 2400 maximum ie £64 versus 3% on 123 account. How much difference are we talking about in terms of interest earned?
That's not an entirely fair comparison though, as this is an account you can have in addition to your 123 account not instead of. Though I agree it's still a pretty paltry amount.Stompa0 -

My answer is in the details
Funding your Regular eSaver
You can deposit up to the maximum monthly deposit limit of £200 in each month*. You can pay into the Regular eSaver by standing order from your Santander current account.
*Your month is calculated by the date that you open your Regular eSaver, e.g. you open the Regular eSaver on the 16th of a month, your month will run from 16th of one month to the 15th of the next month.
Deposits
You can make any number of standing order payments into the Regular eSaver in a month and your monthly deposit amount can vary each month, provided that the applicable monthly limit of £200 is not exceeded. You don’t have to deposit into the Regular eSaver every month
Paying in by standing order
Payments will be sent Monday to Friday. Please make sure that your standing order gives you enough time for your payment to reach the account before the last day of your funding month. For example if you set up your standing order for the last day of your month and this is a Saturday, your payment won’t reach us until the following month.0 -
 I completely missed this account, thanks .
Now can someone tell me why it has to be opened by phone or in branch
Account only made available on 14-03-2016.
As per my post #3674:
Although an e.account Santander have not yet set up their system that one can do it all on-line .. I am told that this will come. In the meantime it is either a phone call to set it up or a Branch visit.0 -

Well in less than an hour I have been able to open the account on the phone and set up the online SO which has now transferred £200 from my 123 account to the regular saver. All looking good for some extra savings at higher interest rates!0
