Minor problem is that I don't know the full account number so I can only fund next month's payment from our joint Flexaccount, but that's only a minor inconvenience. Looks like branch opening can be quicker than online though :D
Mine now shows online. I could have opened it by telephone rather than online but I'm currently 7,000 miles away which makes getting to a branch something of a challenge.. ;)

Now, like you I have to try and find out what my account number actually is..! At least I read somewhere that Nationwide were going to start showing the full account numbers online in the future..

    Regards

If you made your initial payment from your Flex Account then the full statement online shows the destination account in the form xxxx/xxx xxx xxx.

The Nationwide Help says that transfers from elsewhere into a regular savings account (including Flexclusive RS?) should be made to 07-10-40 using ones 8-digit account number that was displayed when applying for the account.

Update: I've just noticed that Flexclusive Regular Saver Ts&Cs say "Payments into the account can be made at any branch or online via your Nationwide FlexAccount." no mention of being able to transfer funds directly in from elsewhere.

Thanks for that. I think the account number is the last 8 digits in xxxx/xxx xxx xxx

Thanks for that. I hadn't tried expanding the statement to show the full account number of the receiving account. Anyway, my letter showing full account details arrived this morning.

Confirmation of the sort code would be useful though, when someone has paid in next month's £250 direct, rather than via a transfer from the Flexaccount :)
  • Hi Everybody,

I have added the Scottish BS Members' Regular Saver 4% account to post 3 as the account matures on 31st March 2014. It can only be opened by existing Scottish BS account holders and it has the same restrictive terms and conditions as their Regular Saver 2012 3.85% account which is also in post 3.

I cannot find anything else that has changed at the moment.

Have a nice, long Bank Holiday weekend!

I will do another update next weekend.

  • please can someone tell me
i am getting no sense from nationwide in asking them.
i am told 2 conflicting things from them and they are as follows
i can only put a maximum of £250 a month into Flexclusive Regular Saver Issue 1 until october 2013, after this date it will be moved to flexclusive saver issue 2 at a rate of 2%.

i have also been told that i can actually save up to £5 million and use it to put my savings in until october 2013

is this a savings account or a regular savings of £250 only ??

    many thanks

The T&Cs for the Nationwide Flexclusive Regular Saver have - as has been observed before - seemingly been thrown together a bit hastily. Although it says max £5m, it would take you a lifetime (I think someone calculated 96 years or thereabouts) to accrue £5m, since the monthly max is £250, full stop. And who knows what will happen after Oct 2013.

Of course, nobody in their right mind would deposit more than £85K into any UK financial institution these days - but there's not much chance anyone would get to that amount of money with the Flexclusive Regular Saver anytime soon, either.

I applied online late in the evening of the 16th.

The money left my Flexaccount on the 22nd, and has a "credited date" of the 17th.

I think my account became visible online on the 23rd.

Sounds like you need to chase up your application.
