Sam_Malone, if you do that then after 9 months of paying out 4p per day, zerog will be in profit - a nice little annuity policy for zerog!

In or around 2005-6, there were lots of ponzi "investment" websites offering rates such as 10% after 1 month, which eventually became ridiculous such as 400% after 1 day.

One of these "funds" offered to pay 0.5% of your deposit back daily. I sent them US$10, and received 5 cents back every day. This lasted for about 9 months before the owner decided he had suckered enough people in and it was time for a runner, so I actually made a profit.

Sadly I never managed to get in early enough to earn 400% in 24 hours, though I ended up in the black after a US government investigation shut everything down. I was only 15, and living in a country where none of this could legally affect me, before anyone gets on a high horse. However it was funny watching a video made by one of these Bulgarian scammers gloating over the life savings he had stolen from greedy Americans.
The Santander eSaver (Issue 5) has been withdrawn and replaced with issue 6 which pays 3%.

I wonder why they keeping doing this. The rate will probably rise to 3.25% in October or thereabouts, meaning I'll have to open another one and then train their security robot to stop bothering me yet again.

My Nationwide Reg Saver, opened on 10th, is now showing online, too. Says start date 13th, but in the description it says "Credit 10 August 2012", so I could be on for another 12p before tax, yay!

Opened online 13 Aug, just got a text saying it was opened and will be visible online in another 5 days... Money taken out today (18 Aug). So possibly lost 20p, which can be earned back by keeping £38 in the esaver for 6 months, and reducing my average flex account balance by that amount ;)

Opened a Nationwide Reg saver - the terms and conditions don't clarify whether £250 per month, is a calender month or starts from the date of your first deposit.
I phoned and they said it's a month from the date of your first deposit, but I see that some people here have been told it's a calender month, so am still confused.

By the way, whilst looking at the terms and conditions, I noticed that it says 'the maximum account balance is £5 million' !!

I know we're all living longer now days and even if interest rates go up, that's a lot of £250/month :D

Do get the feeling that the terms and conditions have rather been thrown together without too much thought.

From their general terms and conditions for savings, " 'Month' means a calendar month."

Don't worry, it's just another example of staff not understanding the products they are selling.

Just over 93 years, assuming you're a basic rate tax payer and none of the rates change. i.e. interest at 6%

Unfortunately I'm guessing the rate will drop in a years time

    Kent Relince, Canterbury

Thanks. I managed to open one by post to Canterbury.

But there is no mention how I can deposit my future money! Can anyone share some light with me, please?

    Thanks!

I applied on-line for the Nationwide Flexclusive RS on Saturday morning and only received the 'upto 7 days' to process email today..

Received an e-mail saying my account was now open and the money also disappeared from my Flex account today,

I can't yet see the RS online but am disappointed that its taken 10 days to do from originally applying online.

    Regards

Applied in branch 16.58 on Tuesday 14th (time is significant as branch closes at 17.00:)) Don't know when it appeared online as I've been away without internet access since Wednesday 15th  but it shows as being opened on 15th :T

Minor problem is that I don't know the full account number so I can only fund next month's payment from our joint Flexaccount, but that's only a minor inconvenience. Looks like branch opening can be quicker than online though :D

    Nationwide flexi regular saver

-Applied over the phone today toll free number 0800 302010. Just take about 15 minutes.
-Got oral confirmation over the phone, the money will be taken tomorrow.
-Got text message a minute after, account is open

Straight forward and painless process. It seems that phone application is the easiest way to go forward if you already have flexi account meeting the condition.

Quite unusual benefit to be noticed with this RS account:
    - unlimited withdrawals
    - Mispayment is allowed . There is no requirement to make a monthly deposit into the account after the initial
deposit. If you choose to make further deposits into the account, the minimum deposit is £25. The maximum monthly deposit is £250.
    - You do not need to set up SO from your flexi account. So do not need to worry about going red if you do not have enough money in your ac.

    BUT YOU HAVE TO
Continue to hold a Nationwide Flexi Account with a Visa debit card and deposit at least £750 per month into the Flexi Account (excluding internal transfers), following the opening of the Flexclusive Regular Saver.

Anyway, you need to pay £750 a month to benefit European multi trip insurance.
