  • You're not old Buffy, the fact that you're due on means you're still young and fertile 😀 Wait until you get to my age.  I can't believe I'll be 60 in August, now that's officially old 😒 I really don't feel it though and as far as I can see I still don't have any grey hairs but then my hair is quite fair so not so easy to spot. My eyebrows have gone so pale that they've almost disappeared though which is annoying.

Hope you start to feel less fed up soon, take care xx
Long way from young and fertile!  :D but thank you XX
I really do think it is a mindset thing, reading your diary and Benben's diary you are both so motivated - I don't mean all the time or in an annoying way, I mean in a genuine realistic this is  bit !!!!!! but I am going to do XYZ to get through it. At the moment I don't have that. I have a real lack of direction right now. So disappointed by work and well everything really. I think I will get out of it. Just not today.

Believe me that you are not the only one who is looking at their hair & going OMG OMG.  I have self coloured my hair with the nearest in the (open) shops to what mine is, well the coloured version anyway.  It is not even close & I hate it.  I don't care if the supermarkets are open as I stockpiled stuff way before coronavirus for brexit.  BUT I NEED HAIRDRESSERS TO RE-OPEN!!

We will however ALL get through this & forget the people who chose to pick this time to be a*****les.  There will always be some who take a time of general difficulty to make sure that they can make some people's life even more difficult.  They seem to glory in it even more if they can catch you at a moment when you are feeling less than you normally are.
  • I washed my hair and it looked better, I think next time I dye it I will put the roots on first and leave them on longer, I think cos I used to dye my hair for fun it was always a new colour but I now do it every six weeks I need to actually follow the instructions for the roots covering....... Also I will do it out in the garden as there I don't need to worry about the bathroom. I hate going to the hair dressers Badmemory, my long history of DFW means I still see it and things like magazines, coffee shop coffee, as an unnecessary expense brainwashed!....I do go, about once a year. I have a very tolerant hairdresser... tho after my recent dye job she might despair slightly.
I am feeling a bit better. Still quite emotional. I know it will end badly but D ickhead has kept in touch and his daily texts cheer me up a fair bit. I am pleased to say the vegetable garden is going well. I can see how I can make things better out there.
anyhow best get back to work.

When I colour mine I do the roots first, leave on for 20 minutes then do the rest for 5 minutes before washing off. I’ve been told by a hairdresser that the home colours are so good nowadays you can’t go wrong.

If the daily texts cheer you up that’s not a bad thing just as long as you bear in mind why you call him D ick head.

    Veg garden sounds good xx
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Both DDs have used the colour strippers you can buy in the supermarkets and it makes their hair so, so, so soft.  DD2 did hers recently as she'd experimented a bit whilst on furlough, it took 2 strips over 5 days to take it all out but she's really impressed with how nice her hair feels.

I stopped dying mine about 4 years ago now, very salt and pepper grey but once you're used to it it's fine, suits my skin tone far better than any other colour would.

MIL has been dying hers auburn for years but she's under going chemo at the mo and lost her hair so she's hoping it will grow back as it's meant to and she can not worry about growing the colour out.

The heat nearly killed me. Not literally, I just don't like it at all. Of course now I mentioned D ickhead here so he backed off, it is like the universe is reminding me we are friends and no more. God I am so upset I was reading too much into everything and basing too much of my future on a future with him Need to get a !!!!!! grip. (and then he texts, dear brain please shut up)
Aside from him I feel quite balanced at the moment (which I appreciate sounds ridiculous!). Life is !!!!!! frankly but I can see some ways to make it better. Work might be half decent next year with all the changes. I am growing less attached to "stuff". Marie Kondo is hard work but I am wading on. There is loads in the shed I can chuck. I have my ever increasing pile for the Rubbish people and my self imposed deadline my belongings will be donated, binned and organised by the 26th of July.
Also by then the finances will be reorganised with my goals for the second half of the year.
    Goals
3000 in the emergency fund. (would like more) = need 300 (get from my spending money)
10,000 in the house fund by the end of the year. = need 4725 (800 a month) .
1500 in the secret mustn't be touched bank account = need 500 (100 a month)
    1200 in the Christmas fund. = need 600 (100 a month)
If I jiggle stuff around I will have 2700 in the emergency fund. But think I might have a poor  few months and just get it to 3000 pounds nowish.
So that is a 1000 a month for the next 6 months. Yowsers. 200 pounds more than I am saving now.........
    Need a cup of tea....

  • You're doing ok Buffy - sorry that Dhead is still having so much of an effect though. Your finances look pretty decent to me - I'm jealous as mine continue to get worse.
Yeah it is pants on the Dhead front. I am hoping as I get things done round the house and can hopefully go out a bit more I won't fixate on him so much nor him on me.
ugh. men. Where is that bloody knight eh???
Money wise yes I have been weirdly good recently. I still spend like a !!!!!! on Amazon but I don't go out shopping ever before lockdown so hey. (aside from food)
You have a lovely house and lovely bathroom and lovely kids. Finances are being sorted as I type I am sure. We will both get there (just as soon as i figure out where there is)
I did the tip run, there was a queue. It took about 40 minutes. At least it is more rubbish gone. 6 bags.

That's an amazing amount to be able to save each month.  Our combined monthly income isn't much more than that!

Now to just convince all the animals to behave and stop needing the vets and you'll be on target.

10 years ago we were £28k in debt and renting, now we've got just over £28k in mortgage, no debt and small but helpful savings,  things can turn around in the blink of an eye but you need to be ready to accept them and welcome them in.  By getting your savings together and streamlining your life/possessions you're putting yourself in a good place. It's exciting to think where you'll be in 10 years.

I have an appointment at the tip tomorrow which I'm ridiculously excited about. I have quite a bit of rubbish to go again as my house gets more decluttered - unfortunately can't fit the old bathroom door in the car to take it with us and now wish I had a power saw to cut it into smaller pieces.
