Jellytotts said:That's an amazing amount to be able to save each month. Our combined monthly income isn't much more than that! Now to just convince all the animals to behave and stop needing the vets and you'll be on target.10 years ago we were £28k in debt and renting, now we've got just over £28k in mortgage, no debt and small but helpful savings, things can turn around in the blink of an eye but you need to be ready to accept them and welcome them in. By getting your savings together and streamlining your life/possessions you're putting yourself in a good place. It's exciting to think where you'll be in 10 years.
It took me a further 1 year to get out debt, learn to drive and leave that guy, a further two years to get my Masters, and three years to leave that awful job. And for a while, till 2017 it was good, my job was amazing, I wasn't in huge debt, I still had (and have) the most amazing friends. Never had any luck whatsoever with relationships.
I suppose now I feel...........I feel like I am carrying on the "progress" I mean it isn't progress exactly, it is living, but I am carrying on more with me and my stuff. This lockdown has given me time to sort myself out and perhaps....just perhaps be little kinder to myself? The thing is I look round at the house and myself as I am now and am hard on myself now. cos I have time and I am ok but the reality is between the me now and the me 5, 10 years ago I haven't been sitting on my bum doing sod all, health, money, family, all kinds of things happen. They say when you sort out your crap you sort out your past. Of course the Marie Kondo people are bit more poetic, but I get it. Looking at your things forces you to look at the person you were when you got them. Interesting.

I have quite a bit of rubbish to go again as my house gets more decluttered - unfortunately can't fit the old bathroom door in the car to take it with us and now wish I had a power saw to cut it into smaller pieces.
I love going to the tip. less so recently but it is a good feeling.
Jellytotts, thanks for posting by the way X I didn't expect my answer to go on quite so much! I doubt i will be able to save quite that much - especially since both the dog and the rabbits are off to the vets this week. but it is a goal. A plan. Forward motion.

Not much forward motion today. Bit of a weird day. had to take Mum for a blood test - which was totally fine but didn't stop me stressing out of my mind for most of last night and this morning, she has been shielding for 14 weeks or something and only been to our local doctors for her other blood tests. Just the worry of going somewhere new. Now we have to wait for the results and see if she needs hospital treatment. It was hard to see how much lockdown has weakened mum. The walk from the car park was hard- which to be fair we don't normally do I normally drop off and come back and find her but she didn't want to be alone -first time out etc.
That just exhausted me, I made an early lunch and then napped. I am just not sleeping at the right time. Staying up late to have sometime to myself is not good. I need sleep between the hours of 11 and 6! not sitting here looking at houses or furniture till 2 am! Tho I did work out a way to fit things in a bit better in my room. That would be amazing actually. Rabbit has her first vaccine tomorrow so that she can move outside in four weeks! (two weeks after her second vac) That does put a bit of tight squeeze on my self-imposed deadline. I will ask the vet if it is shorter.....
Yeah so bit of a low to end June on. Tomorrow when my money moves round I will have all the fun of the fair trying to close accounts and open new ones. I have normally gone into do it before. People at my local hally facts are nice. I have the vets and some returns to do, so at least tomorrow I will be busy in the outside world. Will see about the bank. Meant to be meeting friends on Thursday. Not keen to be honest. may mean the tube and just can't face that.
sending love XXXX

Sometimes it’s so much easier to just go into the bank and sort things out. I also have to close then reopen a savings account with the Halifax tomorrow, but will have to be done online. Don’t envy you going on the tube it’s a nightmare in normal times.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Hope your mum gets her results really soon.

No results as yet..... All a bit of a faff waiting.
So news in Buffy land. I have been ill. Very upset tummy! on and off for almost a week. Barely moved one day this week, like less than a thousand steps. Feel better now.
dog went to the vets. 138 pounds
Rabbit went to vets 141 pounds.
Neither are especially well.both under further investigation so may claim some back on the insurance.
Windscreen got a crack in it 107 pounds (might have said about that before)
I thought sod it and bought a raised bed and a desk. 100 and something pounds.
So the emergency fund is depleted. I am going to take the 100 pound from my spending money cos some weren't emergency things...
I am going to do some gardening this weekend and going for a walk with my friend on Sunday. Can't spend any more money.
Did do a whole load of returns too so that will help, Bought a fan and it was entirely rubbish. and some clothes - weird stuff. Looked nice, tried them on.........er no. That amounts to about 60 quid I think. so not bad.
I am glad it is the weekend, it means no hassle from work. no feeling like I should.
Take care all and extra love to Beanie XX

Right paid off the CC, it was much more than I expected!! I had estimated 450 but it was 616 - I forgot I had done my school clothes order.... So emergency fund is now 2200
but I will move any spare cash I have at the end of the month to the emergency fund. And I can't spend any more money till I have a word with myself re random purchases.........and also perhaps a better budget re clothes?
Need a wee and off to the garden so see you all later XXNevertheless she persisted.3 -
Mum decided on a late breakfast, so am eating now whilst thinking. Payment went through for CC ok and my sister and I think Mum owe me money for shopping and the vets so my spending money is good. Been reading about the virus in the USA. I don't think Mum will ever go back there. And God knows what my sister will do. I am hoping working on the house and garden will distract me from worrying about her.
Really when you think about it everything is so bad at the moment I don't know how we are all getting up and getting on.

Ok. did some weeding and some tidying. Garden doesn't seem as in surmountable as it did. Been listening to Atomic Habits and thinking about routine. Routine is what I have missed whilst being off work. I get stuff done but it is very haphazard. Mum doesn't have a routine as such and so we just pootle along.
I have 21 days left of my plan to sort the house and so long as the weather holds I should be ok to get a fair bit done. School work in the morning, house work in the afternoon.
I can work really hard for 21 days.
