I'm glad you have a new gardener too.  And happy new hair  :)
But I do worry that you are still putting a huge amount of money and time into the house that nobody seems to appreciate or agree should be recognised later on.  Would your mum pay for or share the cost of the new gardener?

It is ok,  the initial costs will be split (as some of it is for the rabbits!) and then once he is just coming regularly Mum will pay. I am holding back from doing anything else. Life at home is pretty depressing really. House is actually disgusting after me being ill for two weeks (hadn't realised it had been that long) and so much needs doing but I just feel like I
Work is hell but it will be over soon and my actual lessons are ok. Got a stressful day tomorrow and Thursday. Need to write my students good bye cards too. And do a !!!!!! ton of marking.
Still I managed all my washing at the weekend. Today wasn't so bad. this week is happening and I am still sitting here feeling relatively ok XXXX

    Nevertheless she persisted.

That's good, fair enough that you cover the rabbits' stuff and that your mum covers the maintenance as before.  It's astonishing how much stuff manages to mount up with just... house stuff, maintenance never mind the rest.
    Hope today went ok

The name gardener is married, but also does work for my mechanic who is constantly on the look out for a suitable man friend!
He was nice tho. I have a good feeling about him!
In other news I have had my first vaccine, no sadly I am not that young! but booked it for half term so I could panic quietly. I did freak out but the nurses were simply amazing. It is done now. I feel a bit rough but ok, I mean I went shopping, I have no money but figured 1. I won't go there again for a while 2. I kinda deserved it after the vaccine
It was interesting, as in the shopping, I went to Primark (spent 40 quid, would easily spend 150 precovid) Flying Tiger (23.00) and didn't buy any books from Foyles! or even go in the works. There were lots of things I decided I didn't need or want, I was pretty good at not buying plastic apart from a lunch box and a hairbrush. I got a chopping board, pencil sharper, lunch bag, lunch box, make up case thing, a dress, socks, coasters, make up wipes, over the door hooks...night dress for mum, some face masks, I think that was it.
I walked almost 6 miles and had a sneaky Mc Donald's(!) It was lovely actually, just to sit there and not have to do anything or talk to anyone!
I should be doing housework. But I am not! Also I have NO MONEY whatsoever!! XX

    Nevertheless she persisted.

  • It was. :)
Reading SA's diary I am having all sorts of house/garden plans. So here is the plan, to be started this week.
    1. Empty mine and Mum's (!) sheds....
    2. Rearrange and tip the stuff we don't want
    3. Organise the tools for new gardener
    4. Lay membrane and put down bark around the sheds.
    5. Move raised bed.... somewhere else... maybe try and set up a water feature or two.......
    6. Remove three pointless cupboard doors from inside the house.
    7. Rearrange the conservatory.
    8. Build the extra Rabbit runs.
    9. Sort out my room.
    10. Hopefully move ALL furry creatures outside for the summer.
    11. Rearrange living room
    12. Rearrange Mum's room and the spare room - try to create a kind of sitting room situation.... or a craft room so that on days when she feels awful she can stay upstairs.
Mum is having some better days. Her appetite has has come back more or less and she enjoyed the Chinese takeaway we had tonight.
    Nevertheless she persisted.

That’s a big to do list 🙀 Great news about your mum.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • So much has fallen by the wayside since Mum got ill it all needs doing. Not today tho as I feel quite rough. No appetite and so weak and yucky. Eaten cereal and toast as was hungry. I think I will go back to bed for a few hours. Just want to write up some garden planning.
Pear tree, Olive Tree, Rose bush, small memorial tubsX2(pet ashes), 3x3 raised bed, with small pond and lily. move lavender (wrong time of year I know but it has to be done!) plant tomato plants, and strawberry plants.
GRrr I wish I felt better!
    Nevertheless she persisted.
