We watched al the LOD ready for the current series. I think I might need to watch them all again as it’s all intermingled just to see what I missed....I notoriously nod off just before the ends of programmes 😳
I think buying to rent and eventually move up theses parts somewhere is a great idea. You obviously have somewhere in mind and there are some beautiful places within reach of most areas. Good luck with your plans.
It’s too early to assume you’ll be on your own....you never know who is waiting in the wings .....

I have been single since 2011, I had a brief and lovely relationship with a man for 8 months in 2013, who broke my heart entirely and then !!!!!! head  since April/May 2019 (tho had a crush on him for months!) . All I do is fall in love with men who do not give a crap about me at all. I have no judgement at all and am best off keeping a way.

I am now on to series five of line of duty. done nothing useful.might have a nap

I don't think you can use your help to buy scheme against a buy to let...but I might be wrong...just worth looking into.

Have you looked into advice on what happens if your Mum goes into a home? How much time will you have to move out? Can you get some paperwork drawn up that shows you've been paying rent/bills and therefore have rights to stay?

    Worrying time for you.

No, I know I can't,  I would do a residential mortgage for a year and then switch, I think it might be worth sacking off the htb in terms of money lost in rent BUT I want to try and do it so I could stay there and not be in a rush to rent it out. So in terms of stress, first time buyer etc I think it is better, plus I might need to move up there so there is that.

I don't have any rights, saddos who never moved out have no protection! (technically I did leave once, I just came back!)

It has been a really tough day today. Third weekend in a row without any contact from !!!!!!. It is so painful to think he never really cared. I was probably just convenient. Actually horrible when I think of our plans. Was he ever for real?  I tried so hard to protect myself. Never works. Heart now smushed up.

Trying to be positive, I joined a dating website. wow. There have been a lot of divorces during lockdown............Poor men.

And in more serious news I told mum of my up north plan and that necessitated a conversation about care and what the future might hold. That was really hard.  Can't say I really want to talk about it.

I have found my password book and so am going to look at my other savings account. Oh I shut down a p2p account so have 217 coming to me.

What a difficult situation, I cant imagine what you are going through.  I think the plan of buying up north is just brilliant, to have your own home where even if you don't live there straight away you can go for weekends or just to have a break.  Please don't put yourself down you are a lovely caring person who is coping with as I said a very difficult situation, I for one am in awe of what you do. sending you lots of positivity, hugs and love x

Are salaries comparable where you're thinking of buying as the mortgage provider might get twitchy  if you're trying to get one based on current salary but after you've moved it might be lower.  I've no idea of teachers salary banding across counties but know the whole London weighting thing can cause issues when you're trying to leave the area as salaries don't match up.

Glad you managed to start a conversation with your Mum, she's now got time to think about her next steps and how she's wants that to play out.

Sounds like a totally emotionally draining few days with everything.  Keep plodding x

That conversation with your mum must have been so tricky. Thinking of you and hope you are able to have a relaxing bank holiday today.
