Definitely much quieter on the forums now with this new format.  It's a real PITA to use now.  I think if I hadn't bookmarked the bits I want to use I'd really struggle to find anything.  There doesn't even seem to be a subscribed Threads list now which is what I used to use.

Actually I think I'll add tomatoes to my dinner tonight.  Thanks Maman.  When I looked in the fridge I've actually only got a couple of mushrooms left so they won't go far between DH and I! so tomatoes will be welcome to help fill the plate up and get some Speed in.

Subscribed threads have now become bookmarks. You can bookmark a thread by clicking at the top of the page next to the 'new thread' button. Then you click on 'bookmarks' icon somewhere up near the top right of a page to get your subscribed/bookmarked threads. You can do something similar by subscribing to your favourite boards too. Go to the board (using category button) and click on favourite at the top of the board. In future, when you go to the forum home screen (click on forum on the top right somewhere) then your 'favourited' boards will be listed.
I've found this out by trial and error, I think it's appalling that there isn't even a basic user guide.

Of course, that's on my desktop. It's a bit different on my phone and I can't speak for a tablet.
  • Hello all, I awoke to the news that my best friend's dad died very suddenly yesterday and it's knocked me right out of sorts, I just feel so so sad for her. I was in a right state this morning and forgot to bring any fruit to work with me and to get anything out of the freezer for tea. I imagine I can defrost some bolognese sauce in the microwave can't I? I don't normally do that as too impatient.

    B - 2x Alpen Light
D - Carrot and lentil soup
T - Bolognese and pasta, salad
HEA - Milk, cheese on bol
    HEB - Alpen Lights
Syns - Sugar in coffee (4), homemade brownie in team meeting this morning (I was powerless to resist! - 10?), hot chocolate (2) = 16

Going to go out for a bit of fresh air now, luckily it seems to have stopped sleeting

    Weightloss: 14.5/65lb
  • PS. PiB - the thread title has always looked like that to me! ??

  • Will need to do a catchup, but not holding out any hope for this week on the scales. However, I did enjoy everything I ate in Egypt, although, I did refuse quite a bit of sweet stuff (they do love their sugar!) Feeling shattered today, home at midnight, back in office at 7:45, I must be insane!
    Have a good week everyone

So sorry to hear your news Tete.. Hope you are feeling a bit better now.  There's no problem with defrosting bolognaise sauce in the microwave - I often used to have to do that when I was working, even though I meal planned I still used to forget to get stuff out.  I'm better now that I've retired which seems a bit daft seeing as I can get something out during the day now!

PIB - the thread title still looks the same to me too!

Maman - I've tried booking marking a thread and also posting on one but they're still not showing up!  I've managed to add one forum to Favourites and that works.  I'll just have to see if I can find the threads I want which I've bookmarked.

Perhaps it is just me then noticing a difference in the thread title, am on an iPad. Still trying to figure things out  :D.

Delighted to report a 1.5lbs loss which gets me back my 6st award. Finally! After faffing about for 2 months. I have started reducing my portions to kickstart my weightloss again and will just have to accept it is a bit harder now, getting closer to my target. Another 3.5lbs to go til I am there and will then see how I go. Will be nice not having to pay every week. Oh man, can’t do the MSE smiley anymore now 😭.

And we did the Free Food Festival/taster session at group today. Bit of a joke really, as it was a recipe containing syns that won. Not exactly Free, never mind. We usually have a really good spread at our lunchtime group, but much less this time, as I guess most people assumed foods had to be free. Countdown offer with new A-Z book full of free recipes started today, and will run for a few weeks. You also get a week free if you bring a new member.

I will continue with portion control and carefully recording everything to try and continue this losing streak. Good luck everyone! 😊

I always defrost my Bolognese in the microwave tete. I prefer to keep it frozen for days when I don't have time to cook from scratch. We're planning on going out for the day tomorrow and it'll be a quick meal if we get back late or if we eat out then it stays in the freezer for another day.
Sorry the bookmark didn't work denise. It seems to be different depending on what you're using. On my phone I have to click on the user silhouette thing in the top corner of the thread to uncover the bookmark icon but on my desktop it's always visible.

  • Well that's strange, I left you on pagen34 and came back to page 71! Must be to do with new layout.
    Just weighed in STS
A little  disappointed as I've been so good, however last week's loss was much more than expected so I need to keep that in mind.
It was tasters today in group. The winner was a slow cooker chilli, was definitely my favourite. Secret ingredient was a tin of refried bean. I will be making it.

SOS I think it's best to look at your weight loss over a month as our bodies do seem to do some weird things sometimes!  Quite often you can have what you think is a really good week and not lose and then another where you think you'll be really lucky to maintain and lose lb or more!

I'll be missing the tasters at my group due to being in hospital so won't be making my usual falafels (they actually get requested so it's like I'm not allowed to make something different!).  I made chocolate brownies for one taster and although they were liked I was still asked where the falafels were, LOL! so now I just don't bother doing anything different.  At least it saves me thinking about what to make!

Went over my Syns yesterday by a long way so have used all my syns up so will be going over for the week as today's dinner has syns in and I'm also having both toast and a roll so have to Syn the toast (it works out 0.5 syn less, LOL!)

    So today's menu:

    B - scrambled eggs & spinach on toast - P; S; 6 syns
L - Butchers lean burger, onions, lettuce & tomato in WM roll - HEB; S; 0.5
D - Normandy Pork which is a sort of stew with cider & creme fraische sauce - P; S; 4 syns

    HEA - milk
    HEB - HM roll
    Syns - 2 WM bread 6; 62.5ml cider 2.5; 25ml half fat creme fraische 1.5

I probably won't get on line tomorrow so if I don't I'll hopefully be back on Friday!

    Denise
