Sorry to read about your son sary, hope things improve soon xx
Tea looking good as usual bubbs. Managed to get a couple of packs of beetroot in Aldi yesterday. Don’t have one near me, but drove DD back to Cardiff and she has one near.
Maman where can I find the recipe for Austrian Ham Hash please? Tried the recipe thread and SW site but no joy.
And whatever happened to Scan Bran? Seen it mentioned in lots of (old) recipes but no idea what it is or where to buy it . Can anyone shed any light?
Another day on plan here, rather a lot of eggs but also plenty of fruit and veg. More food planning required now it is just OH and me again. OH mentioned doing dry January the other day and lasted until this evening :rotfl:. Oh well that is how he spends his syns, I prefer sweet stuff instead of alcohol.
Have a good weekend everyone!

PIB, AFAIK Scanbran is mostly sold only in groups but I've not heard it mentioned for ages. It's meant to be a sort of crisp bread but it's very dense and not very palatable.:(
If you Google Slimming World Austrian Ham and potato hash you'll find the basic recipe. Like most things I adapt it. I'm not a fan of caraway so I use cumin. I often add extra veg like mushrooms and courgettes. I don't use tinned potatoes, just cube and parboil my own along with the carrots . I prefer to prep it in advance so when I've done it all in the frying pan, I tip it into a Pyrex dish, slice tomatoes on top and sometimes grated cheese (now we can have a 2nd HEA). Then when I'm ready it goes in the oven for about 30 minutes. Some people like a fried egg with it but I like greens on the side.
I'm sure Welsh beetroot is even better. 0 -
PIB - SW stopped selling Scanbran over a year ago. I don't know whether the Ryvita crisp breads would work instead. It certainly does in the faggot recipe I use but it is only one. I usually use the dark rye ones.

Thx all for scan bran info. Was wondering if it was a group thing but never seen it. And kept forgetting to ask lol. Guess I can live without

dreading WI tomorrow. gained 3 lbs last week and this has been a bad week too.
I have done a fair bit of walking but still been eating up xmas and new year goodies.0 -
Penny Just draw a line under it and get back on it after WI tomorrow. It may not be as bad as you think - it often isn't.
PIB - you used to be able to buy Scanbran in Holland and Barratt as well as at group.

It looks as though you can but very much more expensive than it ought to be! But as Beanie said don't bother it's like eating cardboard!

No-one else around this morning then?
I'm meeting. up with a friend this afternoon for a coffee so going to have an early lunch, which DH is currently cooking!
Didn't get to finish my post before lunch was ready, so I'm back again to finish it off!
Today's plan:
B - SW fry up - 2 butchers sausages 2; egg P; mushrooms, tomatoes S; beans F
L - M&S less than 3% fat sausage sandwich - HEB; 5 syns (3 for spread; 2 for sausages) - sausage overload but these needed using up as they were LO from making DH's scotch eggs yesterday!
D - Caribbean jerk beef stew/rice 'n' peas - beef P; onions, carrots, celery, garlic, tinned tomatoes, spring onions, swede, S; butter beans P; rice F, kidney beans P (this a PON recipe)
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - spread 3; M&S sausages 2; butchers sausages 2
Not impressed with the M&S sausages so won't be buying them again! Only bought them as DH wanted ordinary sausages rather than Linda McCartney Red Onion and Rosemary sausages for his scotch eggs.
Have used the LO red onion sausages to make some sausages meat balls to serve like stuffing - as recommended by Maman.
