Morning Peeps,
Thought I would pop in as I need to get some sort of routine going. We are all keeping busy it would appear which is good for the soul:) I'm stood here thinking what have I achieved this week? ( I sit far too much so the laptop is on a higher shelf)
Make Do - Eat an OOD yoghurt (8 months) clearly not rotating my fridge items
Mend - Re hem pair of trousers. Thought I could get away with just turning them up:#
Minimise - Thrown out some items of worn out underwear. Reduce my time limit of procrastinating. Going through "stuff" to get ready to sell.
Have a good week, stay safe

Hello fellow MMMers, haven't posted for ages.
Got lots of ys items last time I was at the supermarket so had a ys quiche with fried cabbage last night for tea. Made a veg curry last week to use up an assortment of veg so will take a portion out the freezer to take with me to work as on a late shift today.
Finally set up my sewing machine a few weeks back, have identified some old pillow cases to use for practicing and bought some nice fabric to use when I feel confident. Starting small and aiming to make some hankies for my dad. Have got a few items to mend but will probably hand sew those as don't feel confident enough yet to attempt them on the machine.
My next door neighbour gave us a clock and a lamp which she was getting rid of so plan to put the clock in the kitchen and have popped the lamp in the bedroom.
Hope everyone is doing well and keeping safeMortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.9.25 - £105,664.31

Hi everyone
Make do: Made a 'put in anything' risotto for tea to use some fridge stuff up.
Minimise: The length of the front lawn that was in need of mowing!!!
Mend: not mending as such but using up some material and wool to make bits for the house, and put some aside for teachers 'C' makes that I usually do for dgc.
Not really going out anywhere has really focused me to get things done in the house and garden and Ive managed quite a bit using 'stuff' I have already, so far Ive only bought a couple of strings of solar lights and Im loving them, well not at the moment in this thundery wet weather we seem to be having the last couple of days.

Minimised the weeds growing in my front garden.
Didn't have smoked bacon for the chorizo + bean stew so made it without and made do. Turns out that we now don't need the extra expense of buying in bacon for that meal.10 -
I've inherited a Breville Hot Cup, a machine that stores a volume of cold water and then boils a cupful when you need it. It's not been used for a while and there's some green (mould? algae?) in the tank where the cold water is stored. This tank never gets hot so the green stuff can't be got rid of by boiling like it would in a kettle. I can't get a brush in to clean it properly, the opening is quite small. The manufacturers instructions say just boil a few cups of water and discard them, then carry on and use it as normal. But surely then each cup of boiling water will have the green stuff in it. Do you think Milton or a mild solution of bleach (or the stuff you clean dentures/braces with?!) would get rid of the mould without ruining the machine or making every cup of tea taste of bleach?7

did you try to get the mould out @carolinerunner ? I can't advise really but I hope for the best for a good result.
if the tumble dryer has to go on then I use the warmth of the cupboard next to it to get my sourdough starter going. It's happening today what with this weather turn.

Make Do: having a slightly odd lunch of Ryvita and cheese (me) and toast and Marmite (my Intended) using up leftovers of loaf baked on Wed using new American recipe which we decided doesn't suit us, but we're using it all up anyway, rather than just chucking it out.
Mend: darned three bootsocks for cold-weather use, and am now dismantling the frayed-out half-thumbs on my fingerless mittens to re-knit, hoping to get the four colours of yarn to co-operateStitched narrow velvet ribbon along the inside of a beloved bra, to completely overlay the underwire channels and stop them breaking free and stabbing me!
Minimise: got rid of a dozen runner bean seeds by posting them to my elderly parents who have been unable to get any online (they are in complete lockdown), for late sowing which is better than no runners!2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:
