I've got a Vax carpet cleaner.  It's not that great to be honest.  I struggle to get the water back out of the carpet, so I'm not sure how effective it is.  It does remove marks, but then scrubbing on my hands and knees would do the same.  I've never tried one of the hire ones though, so don't know how different they are (nor have I ever had a professional clean), so I've nothing to compare against.

    Thanks @jwil 😼
I haven't decided yet . I have been looking at a Bissel one which had mainly positive reviews . However , I am thinking back to the days when my mum used to clean the carpet many years ago,  S he  had a bucket of water , and a long pole which folded out with a sponge on the bottom . A bit like a mop . That's the kind of thing that would probabky do.
Being a bit of a dopey man here , I don't know what it's called .  I have been looking in shops and online at various times , but am clueless there 🥴.
    Any advice still appreciated 😸

No.4 if your feeling flush and will make a lot of use, No.6 if your only going to make occasional use...

More of a lurker but since you have storage issues why buy something you will only use a few times over the years. Yes you do not drive but looks like Rugdoctor now deliver https://www.rugdoctor.co.uk/home-delivery/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAqo3-BRDoARIsAE5vnaLRhVrCa1KtbVidqVbPXM8w_s572DPNsEHhdPc_wDJO4KLMFYfV-c8aAq0zEALw_wcB

You could hire that a lot of times before you've paid for your machine. I've used Rugdoctor many times always been impressed and it's not hard to do plus they don't take long to dry.
I'll go back to lurking now.

  • Thanks a lot for the suggestions 😼
Thanks @TallGirl for stopping by 😼
After looking at those last couple of posts , it does indeed look like rug doctor is the way to go.
I only really need to use a carpet cleaner once a year imho.
One of the main reasons is the fact that I very rarely wear shoes in the flat . Only if I'm rushing / forgotten something etc
The rest of the time I'm bare footed 👣🐻

  • Today is / was a test of my mental strength and determination .
What I mean by that , is I deliberately ate and drank everything that I love into excessive levels and the idea was that I'd quit it for good after Christmas 🎄. I deliberately added curiosity cola, Pringles and crisps to my Tesco shopping trolley 🛒 incase stock was low around Christmas but I've eaten most of it .
This meant that yesterday I was on a major downer from the sugar rush feeling depressed, and of course headaches which I deserved . 💊
So, this morning I pulled myself together , and have had enough !
I have just done a workout , and am ordering no more junk . Last year I cut out bread as well as being off the junk for some time . I need to get a grip .
Thankfully mr trainer 🏋️‍♂️Is telling me I've upped my actual exercise to a few more levels since I started . The rubbish I'm doing is the only thing I'm doing wrong .
Being home alone has its drawbacks sometimes . Still, I'm refusing to be down and I'm treating yesterday as  a rare one off .

Speaking of training 🏋️‍♂️, on Tuesday in the middle of my live session with mr trainer I had a call on my mobile 📱which was blocking the screen for a few mins . I ignored obviously and carried on training . I was on my back, so I had no choice anyway . I called the number back after the session , and I believe it was the new job coach at seetec plus . I left a text message not telling them who I was ( in case it wasn't her ) and asked them to call me if they want to talk to me . That never materialised . No surprise . They mean well, but are inconsistent when giving weekly calls . They are obviously overrun with stuff so I just talk when they call.

I'm due my  musical goodies 🎼that I treated myself to from thomann in Germany.
Due today , but on the tracking no with ups it said due yesterday .we'll see.
Yesterday , I had a long phone call from one of my sisters ☎️. I was getting tired and speech was mumbling . It was after an hour I noticed how long I was on the phone .
I sent a text to James . He called me back . He has exchanged contracts and is moving in a few days . Before Christmas anyway . 🎄
He has been working in Hammersmith for a long time , and living in south London
He said 🐘and castle , but mentioned Wandsworth . I'll have to talk geography when we see each other . He has been doing a lot of work for travelbodge fiiting bathrooms and kitchens 🛁🚰 . I'll send a text with jobs I'd like him to do , and he'll want to do them between Christmas and new year 🎄. I've mentioned Christmas a lot 🎄. Sorry 😼
I forgot to mention about James house move 🏚. He bid on one Hse . That fell through .
He ended up buying the one next door instead , and prefers it .
    Anyway , I'll leave it there ..🌨🌧☔️
  • It's funny AC as I too have been eating and drinking the wrong things. Today I am saying enough is enough and I am eating healthily again (I know you think I do anyway and most of the time I do) At least you exercise. I think that makes up for occasional going off script. Sometimes I think we need to...a release of some sort?
Hope your musical deliveries turn up and bring happiness :)

  • Thanks DIA 😼
You have hit the nail on the head there . It's definitely a release mechanism somewhere.
Everybody lapses from time to time .  I think the unnecessary headache and downward feeling is doing me a favour .
I received my box of goodies from ups . The large box stinks of cabbage 🤮
All looks good though and other box is fine . I now have to find a decent 8 plug surge protected extension tower or lead . Something made in the uk .
I saw a couple of things on Argos , but they won't deliver certain items .
I have been looking at Amazon reviews but even some of the highly rated ones have bad reviews incorporated .
The rest of the day is rtfm on my new device and tomorrow plug everything in etc.

On other news, the oldApple🍏 TV box is still working just the way it should do .
I can watch full concerts on you tube , with no multiple adverts in between . I only get one advert before I watch something , or when something has finished . Reason to be cheerful
Anyway, I'll leave it there 💦
