System Failure !

  • Woke up . No rain . Then constant showers until about 9.45 am💦
I decided to go for the walk 🐾, and the timing was spot on to do so.
When I got home , there was a letter addressed to me from DWP Brown Envelope 🙀
Opened envelope , and the letter informed me that "We Are Sending You A Christmas Bonus ". 🎄£10 will be paid into my account by end of December . This is from PIP. 👍😸
However I'm only entitled to one Christmas bonus and will inform them if I get more than one Christmas bonus . It will then be taken back . That's fair enough . I doubt if I'll get another bonus as I didn't get any last year . Having said that ..Covid ! Plus I got a couple of hardship fund cheques from the council ( council tax) as I mentioned a while ago .
    Still, a nice surprise .

So today , I'm supposed to tidy up kitchen . This includes emptying the fridge and possibky freezer as well , and rearrange / tidy up what's in there .
I then may do a light workout 🏋️‍♀️💡
    I'll leave it there ..🌨💦

Rain here today too. Not heavy, but still rain...
Glad you managed a walk between the showers :)

  • So, I tackled the fridge freezer.⛄️. Well just the fridge so far . It was incredibly neglected and manky to say the least . I hold my hands up 🙌. I have been one philthy so and so
The amount of ice actually stuck to it was akin to something from the North Pole .
I made good use if the spatula ( scraper ) and gave it a thorough clean out . I made sure to use the nozzle provided to clear the ventilation hole at the back also . I made sure to pull out any excessive gunk in there . All of this was done with the power switched off of course . I now have a proper set up in the fridge once again . I must remember to do this about once a month .

On Sunday I'm due delivery from Waitrose as I mentioned 🛒. However , my turkey crown will be delivered by them . Obviously I have made the space for it in the bottom shelf of th3 fridge. Looking online , I noticed that you are only supposed to have a turkey in th3 fridge for 2 days ! This means I may have Christmas dinner on Monday and Tuesday instead .
Am I missing something ? Turkey has always been the most temperamental food to cook and manage imho . I'll leave it there .
I have still got to do the rest of the tasks I've set myself , and am struggling with motivation
I did give EDF my meter readings though , and  won't need to worry about that again to the new year .
    I'll leave it there ..🌨

I always go by the sell by date on the actual item.  I have ordered from Sainsbogs for my Christmas delivery and that is on Tuesday 22nd.  They do state that the Christmas food will be fresh till Christmas/Boxing day.

I spoke to my sister yesterday mrs p. And she said that everything will be fine if I do as you have mentioned . I'll have half on Christmas Eve , and should I survive that I'll finish on Christmas Day 🎄
  • Hey, AC, merry Xmas! 🥂Also when you cook your turkey it ‘resets the clock’, and you can safely keep the cooked meat in the fridge for a few days, for sandwiches and/or cold platters before using up in a curry 😋

    Hello again triple choc😼
    Hope you are well..
    merry Christmas too🎄
    That sounds reassuring also .
Thanks for that . Looks like all will be well .
    I now have options 😺
  • The weekend was fairly productive .
I tidied up a lot . Maybe , there won't be too much that needs doing to the flat when James gets here. Time is flying .🛩⏰
Turkey is now in the renovated fridge . I have enough food..and junk to last for a good while 🛒
The only things I didn't do were training or walking 🏋️‍♀️🐾.
This has been rectified today in part ..
I still have a few packs of biscuits , porridge and cartons of long life milk from the gvt
I asked if the lady who has been helping me out a while ago if she could collect for me .
She is coming tomorrow . This meant I had to take a chance and whizz down to the post office and get a Christmas card and small box of chocolates . That is a walk in itself .
It has been raining constantly , but I was lucky 💦
The queue was massive, and I couldn't see any proper Christmas cards so got a card with a picture of a nice dog 🐕

I ordered my sisters presents from celebrate gifts which should arrive before Christmas .
Bizarrely , 2 different addresses but 2 different courier companies used . Yodel and parcelfarce. So long as they get there .
Speaking of deliveries , I ordered a special ( although new) stand for my music mixer 🎼🎸
I was advised that I would be getting it on Christmas Day 🎄, but I have just received it .
So, in terms of Christmas shopping 🎄🛒, it seems that the most hassle was the queue at the post office . If today's orders reach my sisters then all is well .
The turkey will probably be cooked on Christmas Eve all going well .
    I'll leave it there ..💦🌨

Nice to get some chocolates and a card for the helpful friend. I don't think the image on the card matters
    You sound very organised.
I just bought some K crisps (junk) for Christmas. I've been in for 15 minutes and I have eaten them! I won't be replacing them! So, remember to space out the junk food and don't be like me :)

I have been pigging out for a few days 🐷. I'll have to stop after Christmas 🎄as I still have a fair bit left . Once it has gone , then the party ( food) is over 😸
