Talking of sponge cake, this "lock down" is not good for my diet!   Today I have made a sponge cake and some coconut flapjacks :)
Actually I've gone the other way and seem to have lost about 6lb in the last couple of weeks.  I'm not particularly rationing myself (only the cat!) but I think the fact that I do live so close to the shops meant that it was too easy to "pop" in for something and pick up a chocolate bar (or 2) and crisps at the same time.

  • Good point beanilou. I don't want to lose control 😼
Great going on the weight loss dreaming 😼👍
  • Well, the boiler got fitted, but I still have the same issues as before !  The hot water from the kitchen is non existent now . I mentioned this to the installer and he was blaming the taps and limescale . I think that seeing as he was there till around 7pm he didn't want to listen to that problem . I'm writing this as although he set the timer for me , it never switched off and I had to get up and managed to switch off . I will read the manual .
As I was trying to wash plates l, I received a call from someone who's gonna check electrics and inspect it . He will be coming over this afternoon / evening. I will contact him this morning . So annoying! A new boiler and the same problems ..

  • Thanks beanie Lou . I sent a text to the chap who phoned . He is an electrician ,but gave me the number to call . Got through , now awaiting call from engineer ( may be sane as yesterday ) to call me . It's bizarre really. A lovely new boiler , but the same issues .
I would imagine it's a straight forward job for whoever comes out ,and hopefully all is sorted today 🙏

That is such a pain, but it will get sorted and you do have a lovely new boiler now. The problem will be resolved but such a shame it ended up being a stressful experience. Keep calm and carry on AC :)

  • Thanks folks . Still waiting for someone to get back to me .
There is potentially some good news about the boiler situation . I have lots more room in the gas room now . I have moved the sideboard and computer desk back in there . I will have to paint part of the walls where the previous boiler was, and fill. I will get some casing to cover pipe work . The type I want is like a plastic or metal guard so I can pull out when boiler needs servicing or adjusting . No drill work required . When the electrician has been ( and hopefully plumber ), I'll put rest of stuff back in that room . It'll be tidier for sure .
