I think we are all paying slightly over the odds at the moment. Just received phone call from the boiler installers . They will be here on Monday ! Phew!I went for a stroll to Waitrose this morning . I got most of what I wanted . Including hand gel. Lots of empty shelves , and freezers . I got some eggs too 🐔
Tomorrow , I'll be putting the computer desk into the hallway for a few days. Plus one or 2 other bits . This time next week, apart from the other stuff the flat should be tidy and normal service resumed .4 -
Good news about the boiler.Husband went to get some shopping yesterday, got most of what we need, but no loo rolls, which we're getting low on now. He rang his mum to ask if she or his aunt needed anything, and found his aunt has been going out and about as if nothing has changed, and his mum was talking about booking tickets for the Chelsea Flower Show, hotel, and theatre tickets! Don't they watch the news?!4

There is good news for me on universal credit . Not complaining . Looking at what mr chancellor said , it looks like my monthly payment will increase from £317 pm to£400 pm or thereabouts. Apparently it's for the rest of the year , so I'm wary of it being reduced in the future once the land lies and we all recover from the dreadful situation we are in.
It's still appallingly bad but, I can't really complain too much as I'm getting more for not doing much extra. I feel sorry for the masses of people that haven't a clue where to start now they've been put on it all of a sudden. Maybe that's why I'm a bit more relaxed at the moment about it all, as I know there is nothing more I can do . If the dwp realise I have ltd capability for work , then that would be a weight off my shoulders .Been washing clothes today, and still haven't finished. I just have to tidy a cluttered kitchen and sort that computer desk out into the hallway. Tomorrow I may disconnect my stereo amp , take off the cover, apply switch cleaner and compressed air hoping that will fix it.2 -
