Hello, I'd like to join in too. As this is my first proper go at losing weight, I'll say 10lb please. I'm hoping to lose more (got a fair bit to shift as my chronic health condition was awful last year and didn't get out much).

My weigh in will be Saturdays.

Rosie D, 2goals2get2, Jackrabbit123, Toonie never to late to join :) I've added you all to the chart :)Jackrabbit123 do you have a target?

Sarah I'm a walker but I don't think I could get in that many steps in a month I'm really impressed :)

Thanks for the rice pudding idea cranky I'm happy with the 40g of porridge if I have a banana with it but by having porridge for breakfast it does limit lunch choices

2goals2get2 I also try to follow SW it has worked for me previously I just need to do it probably

This morning was spent with my sister at her favourite art supply shop we decided not to go out for lunch on the way back as neither of us would have been 'good'. I've spent a lot of time today trying to keep next door's kitten out of the house and car it upsets my cat too much, but it's a quick and slippery little thing and lies in wait for me to open the front door, getting in the car was a new 'trick' for today

    B -
L - egg mayo on crackers with land cress
D - roast chicken, braised red cabbage, braised peas and lettuce, French beans
S - 2 squares of dark chocolate (Christmas present) and stewed apple and blackberries

Happy Saturday and welcome to the new people joining us.

Today I went for a long cycle ride and have eaten sensibly, my first weigh in will be on Monday (and I am a little scared).

Tomorrow, I intend to take down the Christmas decorations and I shall also go for a walk.

I will sit down and do some menu planning to make the most of my freezer/kitchen cupboard contents and to ensure I keep the diet balanced. I am trying not to do any grocery shopping until the 20th of this month and think I might well succeed.

We took our decorations down today, after which I hoovered throughout and did a bit of housework.
Had 3 healthy meals, and was feeling quite good.
    Until this evening!!
Suffice to say that I’ve decided that I need to ban myself from eating chocolate until I reach my target weight! It’s embarrassing to admit, but I just can’t stop at one square :o.

Unfortunately I think many of us have the same problem  although I think it may be easier with a really strong dark chocolate 70%+ to only have a couple of squares

Do you use pudding rice Cranky, I might try this as I do find the porridge allowance a bit stingy as well. Do you syn the sweetener?
I have noticed that the porridge allowance is a bit meagre, and I cant understand why people of different weights and shapes get the same size "healthy extras"?
I would just assign myself more porridge, but this might be be the reason I am too fat. :D

My weigh in will be Saturdays.

I find it is the lack of exercise that does it for me. I sometimes have long periods of limited activity because of health issues and my weight shoots up out of all proportion each time.
Needless to say, it goes on very quickly and takes ages to come off.

I found yesterday quite hard. Started off with porridge, took a salad out with me, but then we had a very minor but time consuming car crash so didnt get the salad till the evening, and of course it just wasnt enough to eat so found myself eating crisps and chocolate later on.
I dont even like chocolate much!

    Today the plan is

Ham and pickled onion butty and giant carrot.

minced beef and onion, mash, sprouts cabbage green beans.

Porridge if I am hungry later on. I will make it in advance to prevent self sabotage with crisps. :D
  • Thank you so much Brambling, as I'm new to this please could you put me down for 10lb
Honeythewitch, I do hope you are all ok, it must of been quite a shock, take care of yourself. Chocolate is my weakness so I TRY and buy chocolate bars that I don't really like for the DH and kids!
    I've done ok today,

One frozen fruit smoothie - we go through packets of frozen fruit in our house as we love them all it is fruit and water mixed!!
Chicken salad with a wee bit of mayo
Left over chicken fyitas for tea and a slice of ginger cake.
    4 percy pig sweets! :rotfl:

Sorry you are feeling low, Procrastinator, but I am glad you came on here and told us about it. We may not be able to help, but we do listen well here. I think many of us have similar issues and will understand.

I agree about the Linda MC pie, I don't like it either!
