Well done on the loss SIRENS especially as things aren't easy at the moment, I haven't done great on this challenge but at least we have both come out of the challenge lighter than we went in (although just in my case
)
The allotment is looking good Firth and good to see you have slave willing labour, is that a rhubarb plant i saw in the middle and have the chicken started laying yet?
Well the cat behaved today but the neighbour had someone to work on the cobnut trees in his front and back garden (he has one in each garden) so I had to go on mute during a couple of meeting as the noise of the chain saw travelled only trouble is I end up talking to myself as I forget to unmute. I was glad he was using the gardener who did some work for me last year as he's a nice chap and a hard worker, he was on his own today I'm assuming because two of them wouldn't be the correct distance apart when felling the tops half of trees, luckily cobnut trees are lots of individual trunks and not one large one. I asked him to quote me to tidy the front and back gardens before the start of the summer and then I can keep on top of it and i feel it's good to support local small self employ workers at the moment (that's my excuse for not tackling the celandine which has sprung up in the back garden again)
B-two small crustless vegetable quiches (muffin tin size) with cherry tomatoes
L - Minestrone soup with toast and butter (i had a oh sod it moment with the butter and it was so good as thick cut white toast from a crusty loaf )
D - will involve a couple of Gloucester old spot sausages from the freezer I'm not sure if with colcannon and veg or with air fried chips and mushrooms. it was a large portion of soup so i'm currently not that hungry at the moment

Good evening everyone
Sirens well done on your loss 👏 and well done too on the exercises 👍.
Izadora your veg-loaded potato skins sound very good.
Frith your allotment looks very peaceful, but I expect the chickens can be talkative at times
Brambling lol! Such are the joys of working at home
I didn’t get much done in the garden today, as although it was very sunny my garden catches the east and the north winds, so was a bit nippy. I tidied a few bits, and pulled up several yards of common (and very invasive) ivy. Junior Doggy likes to “help” - he sees me cutting bits off a plant, thinks “I can do that” and bites a stem off something and chops it into tiny bits. He also pruned the campanula plants for me. I had 2 Half-hour chats with friends, which was nice. I also divided and froze a big batch of Bolognaise sauce which I made yesterday.
On today’s menu:
B : porridge
L : apple, orange, fat-free yogurt
D : cauliflower Bolognaise; yogurt with raspberries
S : 3 squares of chocolate andtwo chocolate covered shortbread biscuits (medicinal
)

The chickens are very old ladies - they were saved from battery farms 2 years ago and don’t lay any more. That is my older son working hard!6

You had more luck with your assistant gardener that I did with mine Frith. Mine specifically asked could he scrub the patio, appeared, did two squares, said it was too hard and vanished back indoors. I did some more so there's about a third of it clean now. It's a work in progress and there's no point trying to do it all in one day when it looks like I have plenty of time to do it.
I also cut the grass in the back. As it rained most of September last year it was very long. Hopefully I'm getting plenty of exercise and will lose weight this week.7 -
2 days into being furloughed, have to say I never thought I would miss work!! I have realised work gives me a structure for eating.
my main meal of the day is lunch, somthing batch cooked and defrosted served with rice/pasta etc a pot of salad bits and fruit I make sure it is packed up and ready the next day, and I am allocated a time to eat it. Breakfast is toast and fruit, I can't eat first thing so I get to work early enough to toast my bread and eat and take my supliments. Tea is usually rice cakes, hummus and fruit or salad. Throughout the day I keep my water bottle in the repair area (off the shop floor) and take a swig each time I am there, like a non alcoholic drinking game, but I do 1 1/2 - 2 litres a day.
My day off I potter around realise between 4-5 pm I haven't eaten all day - or drunk much. I fill my my bottle and find somthing to eat. Sundays are different as we (before covid19) used to go for a meal at a pub with my dad.
I am trying to keep busy and do stuff around the house, without disturbing 2 workers from home.
But my eating has gone into day off mode - i am not eating enough full stop, and certainly my protien intake has dropped.
So my plan is to carry on as before - defrost and cook rice/pasta the night before and batch cook in the slow cooker as necessary, also prepare salad veg in advance so everthing is ready to eat at 1pm each day. I also need to do toast each morning, fruit seems available in the shops right now, but raw veggies could replace fruit if necessary. I have enough food I just need to structure my eat in.
I also need to Keep filling my water bottle and aiming for 2 litres a day, and trying to get my steps in.
Keep safe and well everyone.

Drum roll please......I've lost half a pound this week so for the first time ever I've actually achieved my target for the quarter. I still have a lot of jobs to do in the house and garden so fingers crossed for the next quarter too.
Thank you Brambling for running the thread
Take care all of you8 -

Well done Cranky x
Im hoping to reach mine on my WI on Tuesday xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.8 -
Morning All,
Sirens Well done on the loss, especially in the current situation. I know what you mean about struggling to stick to plan, after a couple of days of not really wanting to eat my appetite came back with a vengeance yesterday and I demolished half of the contents of the biscuit tinIt's also hard to stick to sensible dinners when you're relying on whatever you have left in the house. Well done for sticking to your exercise bike and doing the Joe Wicks' workouts.
Frith Your allotment looks like a lovely, calm place to be and I love the rescue chickens
Brambling Oops to forgetting to unmuteFortunately I don't have to spend too much time on the phone for work, there is a lot of talking to myself though. And well done for supporting local businesses, they need it more than ever at the moment.
Blue Doggy It's a shame it was a bit cold for gardening but at least it stopped junior doggy being too much "help". I have no idea what a campanula plant is but I'm guessing it didn't need pruning. I'm glad you had good chats with friends, I have noticed that I'm definitely spending more time on the phone than usual.
Cranky I wish we still had the jumping and hand clapping emojis. Massive congratulations for hitting your target. And I did have to laugh at your oh-so-helpful assistant
Sillyvixen I've found that even working from home messes with my normal eating structure so being at home and not working must be really hard. Best of luck with trying to regain your routine and upping the water intake and steps.
Molly Best of luck with getting your target on Tuesday. Am I getting confused or this is actually your second target, as you'd hit your first one so quickly?
I'm definitely feeling hungry again and probably ate more yesterday than I did Mon-Wed combinedAt least dinner was healthy, cottage pie from the freezer and the last of the fresh veg, but the snack cupboard/biscuit tin took a bit of a battering...
Have a good weekend everyone, although it's a slightly odd feeling knowing that the weekend doesn't really give me any more freedom than the week. Stay safe and best of luck xx9
