Thanks for the well wishes. The bug really came out of nowhere and knocked me sideways. All I've eaten the last few days have been little bits of toast, an occasional banana (got to replenish the lost salts) and yesterday I had some boiled potatoes and chicken.

Feeling better still today, but my tummy is still a little delicate so simple foods again.

2goals2get2 I'll add my WOW to the others well done :T:T

Welcome Sue14 sorry to hear you've had a tough few years I also second what Honey has said :)

Hope you are feeling a littlle better Toonie, these bugs can knock you for a six

I trust the cake was worth the calories SIRENS :D I tempted to ask for the receipe but probably shouldn't:rotfl:

I also went out with my sister for lunch Blue Doggie, nothing fancy just a bacon roll (well ciabatta) although it was very tasty and we had a wander around town, she brought some boots and I resisted :)

    B - Banana
    L - bacon ciabatta roll
D - roast chicken with braised red cabbage, green veg and roast parsnips
S - nothing yet but there's still time

  • It all went a bit wrong today.

I started off ok, with bacon, beans, tomatoes and duck eggs,
But then I went out for lunch and had cheesecake twice, which you would think would be filling, but I came home starving and polished off all the cheese!
(I have an allergy and cant eat almost all savoury food in restaurants so usually have two puddings instead of dinner and pudding)

    Good evening everyone :)

Honeythewitch A week for burn-off should be enough, but I have a lunch with friends on Tuesday, so shall have to be extra careful.

The cauliflower bolognaise uses chopped cauliflower instead of pasta with a standard meaty sauce (fewer carbs/calories and extra portion of veg) it’s a sort of cheat’s cauliflower rice and picks up the sauce well. Thank you for giving me the idea - I’ll try a carb version replacing the meat with cauliflower and using it on pasta.

Loving your very “cheesy” day, there are times when one food is all that will do.

    2goals2get2 wow! Congratulations, that’s a super loss! :j:j:j

Sue14 Welcome to our very friendly and supportive group. As others have said (I can’t put it better) be proud of your strength and resilience, you’re a survivor.

SIRENS thank you,it was a good lunch and very good to see my sister. I hope you enjoyed your roast chicken dinner and Bundt cake, it sounds very good.

Toonie I’m glad you’re feeling a bit better now and able to eat a little light food. Hope you’re soon back to full fitness.

Brambling I’m glad you had a good day with your sister, and exercised your “no-power” on the boots!

So, weighing today and have lost 2 lbs. Onwards and downwards!

    Today’s food:
    B: porridge
L: white wine spritzer, chicken liver pât! with sourdough toast, slow cooked pork with baby potatoes and cauliflower cheese (I didn’t choose the roast potatoes, and didn’t eat the Yorkshire pudding), mini dessert of Bakewell tart with my coffee.
T: poached eggs with chicory salad, yogurt with raspberries
    S: 2 pieces of 85% chocolate

Wishing you all a good week!

I haven't posted in a while, but I am continuing with my plant based regime and trying to walk as much as I can, the latter has been difficult in the last week, I have been walking to work but the evening's have been blighted with heavy rain so I have taken the bus. The plus side to this is I have sheltered in M&S food hall untill the bus is due and found lots of yellow stickered fruit and veg!

I have been taking my home made meals to work each day to microwave and haven't been tempted by higher calorie options to buy in town.

My freezer has now been emptied and defrosted and needed to be moved to the kitchen to defrost as it lives under the stairs as I only have a small kitchen, but if I defrost it in situ the carpet would get wet and the kitchen tiles are easier to deal with. Meanwhile I used the small and large slow cooker on the dining room table to cook meals to restock the freezer so I would have suitable meal options for lunches.

We went to see my brother in panto this week and took my dad, during half time (i went to the loo) dad asked my hubby if I was ok, as he had noticed my weight loss and was worried I may be ill, hubby reassured him I was fine and eating more healthily and walking as much as possible. That's my dad all over, he would never discuss my weight with me, but has noticed enough to mention his concerns to my other half. To be honest the last time I was thin was about 14 years ago and I was seriously ill!! (Brother was brill by the way)

As far as my blood pressure goes I am only taking weekly readings and it seems to stay within normal limits.

    Good morning everyone :hello:

I'm popping on to say that I have lost 3lb this week. I am absolutely delighted and it is spurring me on to lose more. I have mostly stuck to healthy eating although the odd pack of crisps have snuck in...Oh Roysters, why are you so blooming tempting :D

I am going to make the sloppy dogs from the second PON book for dinner tonight. The picture looks nice in the book and I think it will appeal to everyone in the family. I will cook some corn on the cob and Actifry chips to go with them. My son will help me with the actual cooking as I can't stand for more than a couple of minutes so I get to sit at my desk and do the veg chopping.

My meals today are going to be:
b - Weetabix, milk and sweetener
l - bacon and lentil soup
d - sloppy dogs, chips and sweetcorn
    s - cheese scone, apple

Hope you all have a great day today, take care xx

Welcome *Sue*. I’m so sorry to read of all you’ve been through, and I echo *Honey’s* very wise words.
Well done to all the “losers” and I hope the poorly amongst us are feeling much better.
The weekend was a good one, but very very diet un-friendly! We had a lovely meal out for a family birthday, I’ve also eaten chocolate cake and biscuits at various points over the weekend.
I’m going for a strict-ish day today and I’ll be going to the gym at some point too, to do penance!
    Have a good Monday all.
  • Morning

reporting in a 1lb loss loss for last week. Could have been better i suspect but lots of people wanted to eat out with me.

It's always the same for me I go well the first week or couple of weeks but then i get tired and a few treats start sneaking in and a few less steps start happening. Mind you last week was super busy with paperwork that needed sorting and i didn't sleep all that well.

Love reading everyone else's posts, good work everyone you look like you are all smashing it.

    Morning All,

Blue Doggy Well done on the loss and best of luck with the sponsorship, that's a great cause to do it for.

Gingerlily Well done on the loss, especially when not feeling well.

Brambling Your local farmer's market sounds fantastic and well done on resisting new boots.

Procrastinator Well done on your STS and I hope that the lurgy didn't get too bad

Toonie Sorry you've been poorly and I hope things are getting better now

    2goals2get2 Wow!!! Well done!!

Sue14 Welcome to the group and I'm another one who wants to echo Honey's brilliant advice

Sirens I hope the cake was as amazing as it sounds. Like Brambling, I'm not going to ask for the recipe because I fear the amount of damage I'd do :D

Honey I like your idea of having 2 puddings, they're not always the most filling things though so I'm not surprised you were still hungry when you got home.

SillyVixen Well done for sticking to the plan and I'm glad you enjoyed the play. Bless your dad for worrying but not wanting to ask you about it.

Dumpling Well done for the loss. I think sneaking the odd pack of crisps in is fine, I find that I need to have some snacks to stop me getting too bored and going completely off plan.

Bfh As long as you had a fun weekend it being not particularly diet-friendly is worth it. Good luck at the gym.

SeekingFlight Well done on the loss. It's lovely that you've got so many people who want your company, even if they are making dieting harder.

I weighed myself this morning and have lost -0.5lb. I'm a bit annoyed that it wasn't more, especially having avoided all hungover snacking yesterday, but am trying to be happy that at least it's going in the right direction

Other than rather a lot of vodka and some accidental toast and butter when I got home on Saturday, I managed to stick to the plan.

Admittedly, I only managed it yesterday by staying in bed for a lot of the day - I figured that if I didn't leave the room I couldn't eat anything :o - so all I had was a slice of toast at about 2pm and dinner. I even had new potatoes, rather than roasted ones, as they're fewer calories, and only a tiny portion of cherry pie and custard so that I was still well under my calories burnt for the day.

I'm really struggling to decide what to eat today. I'm fighting every urge to say "Oh, s0d it" and eat all the rubbish. I'm sure I'll come up with something sensible soon.

    Best of luck everyone xx
