Hope little miss has a good birthday!I will say that I am a homebird anyway, so I don't find lockdown painful in the same way that many do. We don't have family locally, so are used to not seeing them regularly. With regards to DH's job, we will be gutted if he loses it, as he's enjoyed it. However we survived before and are in a much better position without the nursery fees, so whilst it would be hard, we could survive again. It would just be a shame that once again we'd have no spare money!

I agree about you being positive Jwil
. I don't mind a four week long down as I tend to only see family or go on days out in the school holidays, but if it lasts over the Christmas holidays then I'll feel sad at not being able to see family and go for walks at the NT, etc.
I expect half term has rested you even if you feel you haven't done very much. Good news on the ebay sales and I hope you can clear some more of DH's clutter before Christmas. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Fingers crossed it will all calm down a bit though and cases will reduce enough. We are thinking about getting NT membership for next year, we will have to see how things go. I think there will be lots of xmas light spotting trips for us this year, the kids love it (and so do I)!

Hi everyone, hope all is well.
DH is now furloughed for the month. Hopefully he'll be back after that. It's a relief that the furlough support has been extended to March as well, just in case.
It looks like we will be dipping into the house fund sooner rather than laterThe only plug socket in the kids room has stopped working properly and so I'm not going to risk using it. So we need to try and find an electrician now. The electrics worry me in this house, so I want to try and start getting them sorted. Of course we can't do it with DH's stuff everywhere so he's been told he's got to clear more so that we can get on with it.
In exciting news, my first default falls off my credit report this month! It's gone from one already, but not from the other. This one defaulted much sooner than the others, so I'll lose a couple more next year, and a couple the following year. It's the start of it all improving though! I just need to try and get saving for some F&Fs so the debts can be gone."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Looking for the positive in DH being furloughed for a month he has no excuse not to make serious inroads into decluttering his stuff. It's good that furlough payments have been extended tho it's a lifeline to many. My son has only been back at work the last two weeks and hoping he's not furloughed again. Such worrying times.
I've a fair amount of decluttering to do, not my stuff but what was Mr Retiree's. It's trying to work out the best way to get rid of DVDs, CD and vinyl records dating back to the 60s. The boys have taken what they want and I'll probably split the money between them.
I've now had my fourth cycle of chemo only two more to go. CT scan due on 21st Nov. Fingers crossed that the cancer is on the retreat.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend x7 -
