We've had a lovely day out with my bestie and her child today. We live a fair way away so don't see each other too often. It's probably the last time for a while now, looking how things are going. It was fab though."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5

Our neighbours behind us have replaced the back fence. The old one is the original one from 50 odd years ago and was falling down. It's their fence according to our deeds, but DH has offered to contribute, which I am happy to do. Just hoping he hasn't given them a blank cheque as we didn't agree anything. We did get a quote a few years ago when we considered getting it done, so at least have something to go on. It looks fab though, so much better. I'm hoping they'll cut down the giant leylandii now they aren't needed for screening. They are nearly as tall as the house, and as our back garden is tiny, very overwhelming.
We might now get the fence done between us and the next door neighbour now, as that is also falling apart. It's his fence again, as the original boundary line is in our garden, so we might just get one put along the boundary, but will speak to him and see what he says. It's only 3 panels, so shouldn't be too crazy expensive. It would make such a difference to how our garden looks and may motivate me to get out there and tidy it up!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I'm still working through my diet CBT course. I haven't been entirely on plan, but have done so much better than before. I've pretty much stopped snacking, which is my biggest downfall. Apart from the odd bit, I haven't had chocolate and I haven't been craving it either. I'm doing the school runs this week, and we've been walking in the morning. It's noticeable how much fitness I've lost over the last 6 months (and I wasn't hugely fit anyway) so hopefully that will help a lot.
I'm really pleased with the progress I've made so far, and even if I don't lose this week (as I haven't been entirely on plan) I'm on my way to creating new habits which will help me in the long term."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
