Sounds like you've done really well today again. I'm very impressed. And great to hear about how you declutter responsibly. I think you're such a good role model to others that way. Yes, it takes longer but its better than putting it all in landfill (like they did on the program I'm sure we've already said). I do love bag2school.
My two have to wear their pe kits to school on pe days and school uniform other days. Real pain to buy school shoes for only 2 days out of the week but thats the way it is now.
Going to be amazing for you to finally have both at school. Not just financially, its so different - as you already know - they change so much.
My house... I thought we were nearing the end but I've been sad so he's been doing the big jobs that fix little niggles. There is so much mess that I'm not sure if I'm happy we've done it. I always feel like that though.
Great news on your debts all getting smaller too xxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

We decluttered our kitchen and repainted the kitchen cabinets and tiles- and I feel like the kitchen is 1 metre wider. We ended up with spare cabinets! The folding method helps a lot with laundry - but I've still got a long way to go.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Great news on your debts all getting smaller too xxxYes, we never throw anything away unless there is no other option. There is usually an alternative option with a bit of effort. The biggest thing I've had to overcome is getting over the fact that some things just have to go in the bin. I've kept stuff for longer than I should because I couldn't get over it. But if we can't give it away, a charity can't sell it and it can't be recycled, then I have to suck it up and just not buy in the future.
Yes, that is a bit of a pain isn't it with the school shoes. Hopefully they'll last longer though!
I'm really looking forward to them both being at school. Not only is it financially and logistically a lot easier, I love seeing them grow and develop.
I think it's always hard when the house is in a mess from having work done. At least the niggles are being fixed and when you come out the other side, you'll have a lovely house and will soon forget the pain getting there!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I'm hoping to just have a chilled out day today. I am tired as I didn't sleep very well last night. I just want to snuggle up with a book, I didn't manage to do it yesterday as I was messing around on the computer all day.
I've got little miss to try on her school uniform just to check it still fits! Luckily it does though I expect I'll need to replace soon. She's grown loads this year and although I bought a size up, she's grown into it! Today I'll try and get everything named and sorted and organised ready for next week, so that I'm happy I've got everything."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". You are sounding organised for school.
I struggle to let things go too - but the house does usually look better and feel lighter with less stuff.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I'm not feeling great today, so am chilling out. We were meant to go and see a friend but cancelled. I took the kids to the park this morning for a run around before the rain came. It's now chucking it down and I'm contemplating putting a jumper on!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I've had to declutter a rock crystal. It's bizarrely rotted and covered in powder. I've had it for years and not sure why it's suddenly happened now. I've been watching far too many episodes of X Files recently to even warrant keeping it in the house 👽🤣
I also tried making Lardy cake yesterday, and my out of date yeast didn't rise at all so I've binned that and a jar of capers dated 2013. Stuff is still trickling out even if I am not as full on as I was at the weekend. I did start sorting the kitchen cupboards as well so I can see better what I've got."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
