Well I've got the day off today, so I'm going to take the kids to the coast. It's partly to have a nice drive with the air con blasting
We'll go early, take a picnic and come home if it gets too hot or thundery.
Much as I hate this heat, one benefit is it's much easier to stick to my healthy eating and I've lost 4lb so far this month 😁 Just got to keep the momentum going. One benefit of these other scales is that they weigh in oz as well, whereas the ones I was using were just lbs, so I wouldn't see smaller losses."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". It was lovely at the coast this morning, it was cloudy and breezy and we had the beach to ourselves for a while! So nice to be out of the heat for a while. It's still veryou humid back here though, the rain has arrived now.
When we came home we played a couple of games and made some cookies, then chilled out. It was a good day and I finally feel like I've managed to do something with the kids these holidays!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hey everyone
I had a nice surprise today, opened a letter to find a cheque for £5. It was from one of my creditors saying that they hadn't treated me right when I was having financial difficulties and so they've sent a refund of fees and charges and interest. My first thought was that it was a bit of a waste of time for £5, but when I read the letter, they've also credited over £100 to my biggest debt! Of course I'd rather have had the cash, but I'm happy with the reduction in balance. They sent me the interest part, and credited the rest to the debt.
I've got tomorrow off work to spend with the kids, then in Friday and then I've got a week and a half off. I can't wait, though I've got loads to do before the end of Friday. Little miss will be going into her last week at nursery. I did ask her if she wanted the time off, but she said she wants to stay in nursery as long as she can. She keeps getting upset about leaving bless her.
Little jwil probably wont want to do a lot, so my plan is to get on with decluttering, cleaning and I want to sit down and sort out my finances. I will be able to start paying more to my debts (though will try and keep it low to enable me to save for settlements), and I want to sit down and make a plan for retirement. I'd like to retire at 55 (though this is completely unrealistic!), but if I can see what I need to do to achieve that, then I can adjust the plan to something more realistic and achievable. I will also look at DH's provision to see what needs to be done there, so we both know that if something happened to one of us, the other has sufficient provision."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hi Jwil
Good news about the money. Would have been nice to get an actual £100, but at least one of your debts is a bit lower now. Enjoy your week off next week.
