Morning everyone. We had a bad night last night, little jwil was up with croup. Luckily it settled down fairly quickly, and he didn't have a temp or anything. I brought him into bed with me so I could keep an eye on him, and he's such a wriggler I got hardly any sleep! He is fine this morning, just a little tired. I feel like death warmed up!
I think I'm going to be a nervous wreck by the end of this winter with all the bugs and colds and worrying about whether we should be isolating, testing etc. The school has already said they will be sending children home a lot more frequently!
I'm not enjoying the heat, I'm definitely going to consider air conditioning when we get the house done. It's only going to get worse than this with climate change. Little jwil who is always hot anyway has been using the dog's cool pad on his bed (the dog won't use it). He's loving it! I'm tempted to get some more.

I did the 111 coronavirus symptom checker for little jwil yesterday and it said there was no need to get him tested or for us all to isolate so that's good news. I assumed that as soon as I put in 'cough' it would tell us to do so, but it asked a lot of questions about the type of cough and frequency etc.
I also had a call back from my GP surgery about my knee pain. They said that it all sounds ok, but it will likely to take several weeks to stop hurting. I'm to give it another month, and if it's not improved, they'll give it a good check over. They did offer to refer me to physio, but I said I'll give it the extra month first. At least by then the kids will be at school so if I need to go anywhere I'll be able to do it on my own without having to drag the kids with me.
Last night was a better night, so I'm still feeling shattered but not as bad as yesterday thankfully. I did my covid test yesterday and posted it back. I'm not sure if I've done it right as it said it had to go in the postbox an hour before last collection. That isn't possible for me, so I posted it earlier. Hopefully it won't have wasted the test!
I've booked a flu jab for me and DH at the end of September. I shouldn't have to pay as the pharmacy will check eligibility, but even if I do have to, I'd rather get it earlier. I tend to be at the end of the list at the doctors so get it quite late. DH isn't eligible for a free one, but we will pay for him to have it too."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Remember you would not get the physio right away. Why don’t you phone the surgery & get the referral put in. 😊I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters.
