I did order some new trainers the other day so they will cover them plus some to go to the house fund.

I cracked today and bought some chocolate 😞 Little jwil met his friend today for a play in the park and we were next to a shop. I have been really stressed and anxious and didn't sleep well last night, so had no resistance! I'll try and get back on it again.
As I mentioned, I ordered some trainers the other day. They were a bit of an impulse purchase from a FB ad of all places! I normally make an effort to avoid them, but liked these trainers. Mine are starting to fall apart so it's not a totally random purchase. I just hope they are nice like they look when they arrive! They were £25.99 so not too crazy."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee8 -
Well done on the trainers. Hope you enjoy them for your walks to and from nursery.
Like you and chocolate, I am drinking more wine. Just reaction to the ‘whole’ situation. But running most days which I love.6 -

I hope everyone is well.
I've had a fairly productive day today which is good considering I had another terrible night last night. My hand and knee are still quite painful.
I've been working, but have also had a good tidy around downstairs, moving stuff that DH seems to have abandoned in my nice clear spaces, and tidying up the kids toys. It just feels so much better when it's tidy. I'm going to nip up and have a go at their room before they go to bed as well I think.
Little jwil had a goodbye visit from his teachers today. They dropped off his report and all of his schoolwork. His report was amazing, and I'm so proud. His teacher had made a booklet of how he's changed over the last couple of years and it was so lovely. I got quite emotional about it. He's had her for 2 years, and she's been amazing with him, it's such a shame he's missed out on the last few months. Hopefully his next teacher will be as good.
The news about furloughed workers is hopefully a good thing, and fingers crossed it means that DH's job will continue to be secure until at least January. I'm also interested in these vouchers they are discussing for energy improvements. We need new windows, so I might see how it compares to a general quote from a window company. I know the prices tend to be inflated when it's a scheme like this. I'll look into it more when it's open. If there's a saving to be had it might be worthwhile!
I also found an old £5 note when I was tidying. I'll have to look into how I can cash it in now."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee9 -
Nice find on the money. Hope things settle for you - including the amount of pain you are in. The vouchers do sound interesting - but like you I wonder how they will work in practice.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
